View Full Version : Bud's Gun Shop refused to sell me 3 shot mag extension tube for my 870
They cancelled my order. I called and ended up talking with a supervisor who told me it was their policy not to sell any items that could be used to increase magazine capacity to anyone in a 'ban state', because someone might use it in an illegal manner. I told him that just about ANYTHING ANYONE sold could potentially be used in an illegal manner. We read the statute together and he would not agree/disagree that it was legal to sell the part to me, only that it was their policy not to. The guy handled it pretty well, but I didn't get my part. There, now you know and it's off my chest.

Yeah Buds errs on the side of not selling to us. I was going to buy my Scar from them if they would just keep the mags and ship it without but they wouldn't remove them to make the sale. Oh well, I got it somewhere else and I don't deal with buds anymore, trying to stay local if the price is within 10%.
Well, shite. I guess NO ONE will sell. Tried 3 different places, no-go.

So it's really not just BUD'S. 4.5/10
Isn't it great living in a ban state? It's only going to get worse here as more and more Californians screw up the demographic. I don't blame Buds, or any other retailer, for choosing not deal with our state's BS. It's just not worth the hassle. I miss being part of Free America.
Do you have any friends or relatives in others states?

I wasn't suggesting he buy anything illegal. A tube extension isn't a problem unless it brings the capacity over length.

That's true, I'll erase my irrelevant post.
LG Outdoors sold me what I needed. Buds and Cheaper Than Dirt denied me. I get their point, it just rankles a little when companies that are in the industry refuse to sell legal items to legal citizens because they either don't understand or are afraid to 'come too close' to the brink of the law. I guess even I'm guilt of it. Years ago I refused to sell my Yugo M95 to a LEO in Kalifornia because I didn't understand what they had going on and didn't want to hassle with it.

It blows but I get it every idiot state law has its own nuances and big company's don't want to get side ways of them. I tried selling a pistol to a guy in California. Ended up not doing the deal due to the nightmare paperwork due to California doj
