One time I shot the ceiling because I was adjusting my tinfoil hat with my gun in my hand.

Hopefully. He certainly isn't helping our cause at all... Who fondles a loaded gun while driving - or anywhere but the range?

We don't fondle, But handle LOADED & CHAMBERED guns on a daily basis. From shelf to hip, back off hip at end of day. . From where ever to other area while cleaning around the house. . One has to handle it to put it away when guest with kids visit. Removing from hip when entering post office, or catching a flight.

Think about it that way, he should get charged. I still bad for the dumb ass though.....that's gotta really suck in a few different ways.

I read it as bad guy shoots himself while getting ready to shoot the other bad guy that was 'following' him. I'm guessing he's not a gun owner but a gun possessor.

Exactly! The big distinction there is doing it safely, smartly, and responsibly.

You take your gun out of the box and hold it on the way home from the gun store and you know it.

I don't know what the official language would be but he discharged his weapon inside city limits, possibly without justifiable reason (i.e., self-protection). Suppose his gun was pointed away from him and that discharge went into the vehicle in front of him or a place of business on the side of the road?

Judging from the neighborhood it happened in I'm going to guess he's going to be charged with "Previous offender in possession of a firearm".

Its a good thing for the knucklehead that he was scratching his knee and not his man parts. [Sarcasm2]
