I'm looking for a carbine length safe for 1, possibly 2 long guns to keep in the closet. Any one have any recommendations?

These are some I've considered:

This one seems to be the best contender--I like the way it opens:

Stack on: Don't know how this compares to any others--just a potential contender

Hidden Gem Falcon: Looks good, but don't know much about the company or lock.

LIberty. This is the one that's seemingly closest to a true safe, or residential security container. It's not configured for long guns and would have to be retrofitted, but is pushing 400lbs.

I like your first pick, little pricey. If it fits your need, get it.

I really want to like the Sentry HDC but it doesn't seem like it offers that much security, especially for the price. I would be wary of relying on it to keep kids out, depending on how old the kids are. There are only 5300 possible combinations, which is definitely brute-forcible, especially over time. The code can also be bypassed with a common tubular key. But it is designed to open quickly and the way it holds the gun is pretty neat.

The next step up in security would be the Stack On you listed. Liberty makes a "safe" like the Stack On called the Revolution 12 for $450. Made in America, better lock, better warranty, 250 lbs.

Any thoughts on considering an in-wall safe? I was thinking about something similar but wasn't sure I'd want to go stand-alone.

Something like this, maybe?

I was going to recommend a "tactical wall" safe: http://tacticalwalls.com/shop/1450m-bundle/
or something like the V-line one Brian linked to. Depends on your needs.

Brian's V-Line post is on sale at Amazon for $500. Been watching it for months, and that is $25-30 cheaper than I have seen.

V-Line Closet Vault (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000T2C82M?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_imb_mini_detail&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER)

They also have 2 smaller V-Line versions that are designed for surface mount.

V-Line Long Gun Safe (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000T2A6BW?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_imb_mini_detail&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER)

V-Line Shotgun Safe (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000T24OGA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_sfl_title_2&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER)

Agreed on requirement ... My case requires be "hidden" fast access. I can make a nice wall mirror to cover the closet vault.
Simplex locks are the need for me ... I'm a-scared of electronics.

Looks like FedEx will need to stop at my place in a few days with a large box :)
