View Full Version : Scope Mount Question

I have an AR-15A2, with the carry handle. I purchased an adapter that bolts on to the carry handle so I can mount a scope, then find out that my Bushell scope doesn't fit [ROFL1] (the rail is too wide for the scope).

My question is this, is there an adapter I can purchase to replace the mounts on my scope with ones that fit this, or should I look for a specific type of scope mount and get a new scope?

My scope isn't the greatest, I purchased it for my AR7 for $30, but I figured as long as I HAVE a scope that's collecting dust, I would try to use it until I can buy a really nice one for the AR15.

Thanks!

any pics? I think the scope you have is for airsoft, that what the problem is...

Airsoft huh? Wow, Sportsman Warehouse could have mentioned that one... Like I said, it fits my Henry AR7 great.

I can't figure how to post the pictures I took, it looks like they need to be hosted somewhere.

Duct tape.

If that doesn't work try bailing wire and JB weld. If that does not work you could try something like this

Now, that's actually funny - since that is EXACTLY what I just got (from Cabelas as well) and cannot fit my scope on.

You got the scope that is set up to fit the existing ridge on the 22? Kind of like a mini weaver?

If it is a standard scope you can take the rings off and buy a set of weavers for it, assuming the tube is big enough.

yeah, you can buy just the scope rings

What you need to know is, what is the type of mounting rail. Is it Weaver, tip off, or picatinny? Then you need to know what the rings are made to fit, weaver, etc.

It sounds like the rail and rings are not made to go together.

take the scope and the rail to the store with you when you go to get the rings to ensure correct fit.

What is a good store to get these?

I think Basspro would have the largest selection in store.
