Did a search, didn't find anything. If I missed a threat, point me in the right direction.

I previously had a glued and stiched Desbiens Gun Leather belt that lasted 9 years. Now, I'm in the process of losing a serious amount of weight and don't want to invest in a high quality gun belt until my waist size has stabilized. To cover me in the mean time, I've picked up a Hanks Amish Gun Belt. Should be good for a year or two. What would you guys recommend for a high quality leather gun belt? I prefer dual layer, stiff gun belts. It would ideally be a belt that would last me 10 years.

I have a Lenwood Leather belt. I'll see if I can find a link.

Is it this belt?

Lenwood Hybrid Belt (http://www.lenwoodleather.com/store/belts/lenwood-hybrid-belt/)

That looks like a really well made belt for the price.

Here ya go. I actually got mine from Midway and not directly from the manufacturer.

I love my 511 operators belt, it is just a bit wide is my only complaint.

It probably just seems wide because you are such a tiny person.

Check out thebeltman.net

I have a couple and they are nice and stiff. Lots of options. I probably need to replace my brown belt, but with about 9 years of carrying a full-size XD I think it might have paid for itself.

I have been using a belt man for several years now. It is still very rigid and holding up well. Also, the Liger belt by Maxpedition is a good option if you can find one.

what if there was a guy who could make you any size, width, thickness of belt with your choice of kydex, poly webbing or even scuba webbing, in your choice of colors for about the same price or a little less that only lived a few miles away?
I'd have to say, "Great, can I get some squeeze bags, as well?"

Just sayin'

Aker B21. It's leather with a plastic strip sandwiched inside that adds stiffness without weight and bulk. I've used them for years. Not as robust as they used to be, but still a great belt.

Anybody tried out one of these? Mean Gene (http://www.meangeneleather.com/shop/mgl-victory-aegis-black/)

I am curious as I have been running a beltman for years now and prefer leather belts versus something like an Ares nylon.

I support a local brother (Pueblo area), Ray at Lobo Gun Leather: http://www.lobogunleather.com/ Excellent stuff and if you need something different, send him an email and he may be able to do it! Great guy...

Also, A&G Custom Gun belts is great. All they make are belts and they're excellent!

Tucker Gun Leather is having a big sale right now on their Ranger & Latigo line of leather gun belts. PM me for details...

+1 on the Aker B21 in 1 1/2". Good leather, good looking, sturdy gun belt. I have three in black and brown, all still in great shape after 12 and 14 years of daily use.

If it was me and you like the belt you have, I'd buy a hole punch until you reach your final weight. Just follow your weight loss down with a new hole and trim off the end periodically. Then when your looking good, find a new belt. But as my wife would say that's just me being cheap, let the guy buy a new belt.

I've been using a Beltster for years. Works great for CCW, plus it's a helluva slab of cowhide as just a belt on its own. Google Beltster. Ads in all the gun rags.

Just finished this dress set for someone.

Belt is 1 1/2 wide and 1/4" thick. 2 layers of Herman Oak leather with a strip of poly webbing glued in the middle the full length of the belt. This belt isnt going to stretch or roll over on this person. The holster is a glock 19 holster.

I would do that if the current belt that I have wasn't literally falling apart at the buckle (leather is torn in place). I went cheap with the Hanks Belt and we'll see how it holds up but I prefer a very rigid belt and I'm not expecting that from the Hanks Belt. From what I've seen they take a curve very quickly and it's only a single layer of leather.

Tucker Gun Leather, since 2006. I am losing weight too so I may order a new belt next year. In the meantime I will see if the holster guy at the gun show can punch me another hole before I lay out for another belt.

Well, scratch Lobo off the list, he's retiring. If you order now he may accept it... Don't blame him at all. This "hobby" has kept him busy!!

I have a belt I bought from Sportsmans Warehouse for under $40 several years ago. It is stiff leather, double layer and very strong. This is my second as I lost some weight. Gave the first one to my son and he still uses it for EDC. Here is the link, it is Triple K. Looks like they are $45 now. Still a better price than any thing else I have seen.

For another local option, Western Images Leatherworks just east of the Springs does some good work. I just bought a horsehide carry belt from him and have been very pleased.
