But these kind of events only happen in the USA. Obama told me so.
Nice job kicking some ass by the unarmed US Marines to prevent this from becoming a total bloodbath.
Prayers for the critically injured Marine.
Right on!! Awesome job by the USMC.

Hoorah!
God Bless the US Marines. Sure hope the critically injured folks survive this.
Skip the Air Marshals...We need Air Marines! [Marin1[
Prayers for a swift and complete recovery. I will wait anxiously for the CiC to recognize the valor of the Marines involved in their action against terrorists.

Watching the French news: one Marines and one British citizen injured. Marines was upgraded from critical to fair.
Wow, 300 rounds and captive targets that couldn't get away - that turd could have done some serious damage! Good for those Marines! God bless 'em! Too bad the turd didn't suffer some oxygen deprivation while being detained, a little brain damage would do him some good.

One of the reports I have read indicated they heard the terrorist charging the weapon in the bathroom.. Even through walls a bolt slamming home on a weapon is unmistakable. I am sounds like they stopped them as he was steping out of the crapper to start shooting.
God bless our Marines. Semper Fidelis

One of the articles stated that the Marines saw this guy looking suspicious and followed him onto the train.
ETA: Quote from the article linked at the beginning of this thread;
Belgian journalist Marin Buxant Tweeted that the US Marines were on leave in Brussels when they spotted the man and followed him on the train. When the suspect went into the toilet, the Marines recognised the sound of a weapon being armed and decided to act immediately.

I like their situational awareness if that was the case.

Lmao you beat me too it.
This does more in one REAL action to show what America (and being an American) is about than sending a million politicians.
A Marine is never unarmed. I hope they used the eye gouge technique on this G.F.

Just read that now they are saying it was 3 Americans. Air Force, National Guard & college student. All friends. Spencer Stone is the Airman.
According to the AP:
Anthony Sadler, a senior at Sacramento State University, was traveling with childhood friends Stone, of Carmichael, California, and Alek Skarlatos, a National Guardsman from Roseburg, Oregon, when they heard a gunshot and breaking glass. Sadler told The Associated Press that they saw a train employee sprint down the aisle followed by a gunman with an automatic rifle.
"As he was cocking it to shoot it, Alek just yells, 'Spencer, go!' And Spencer runs down the aisle," Sadler said. "Spencer makes first contact, he tackles the guy, Alek wrestles the gun away from him, and the gunman pulls out a boxcutter and slices Spencer a few times. And the three of us beat him until he was unconscious."
British passenger Chris Norman told French television that he helped tie the gunman up. Stone then quickly turned to help another passenger who had been wounded in the throat, stopping his bleeding until paramedics came, Sadler said.

Amazing how much the initial reporting can describe the basic facts but be so wrong. Either way good on them for stopping a potential bloodbath.

Agree. Bottom line is these Americans did not hesitate to deal with the threat, assuming they got the facts right this time.

AK at the end of the vid there
In another photo I counted 9 30rnd mags for it and what looked to be a glock mag.
I just can't stand it when shooters are "captured and detained, so they can face justice". True justice would be for all shooters to be taken from the scene in a body bag. James Holmes is a perfect example, he should have been shot on the spot. And this puke should have left the train on a stretcher at the very least. Break his fucking neck as you're taking him down!
Sorry, JMHO.....

Of course then the media gets to shrug its shoulders and say "we have no idea what his motivation was?" But once he starts barking about Jihad, Allah and Infidels in interrogation we'll get to hear the truth.
It's good he's still alive. If I was running the show, I'd had him over at some "undisclosed site" to Dick Cheney & the boys. We'd know everything in short order.
Awesome, goes to show what happens when people stand up for themselves.
I love what the Brit apparently said.
"My thought was, 'OK, I'm probably going to die anyway, so let's go.' I'd rather die being active, trying to get him down, than simply sit in the corner and be shot."
"Either you sit down and you die or you get up and you die. It was really nothing more than that."
So now this piece of crap says he was just robbing the train so he could get some food. The poor guy was just homeless and hungry. He just happened to find all the guns and ammo on a park bench. Imagine his shock and surprise when they accused him of being a terrorist.
So I guess now this pile of shit is going to game the system and no doubt will get some sympathy. Not from me, I wish they would have ventilated his brain on site.

Yeah, he needed 9 magazines to rob some Frenchmen. [pileoshit]
Of course, one of the things we have to remember about countries like France (and other Euro countries) is that they have a large North African immigrant population and a lot of professional hand-wringers (just like us in that respect) so in public, they have to say a lot of mealy-mouthed crap about fairness and equality, etc.
But their security services are not amateurs so I'm guessing this guy is in for a rather unpleasant time, at least I hope so.
Interesting update. No idea if it's related but very strange.
