Alreco in Henderson. You walk in and around, find what you want, and pay by the pound. They will cut off what you need. They have LOTS of aluminum.

Cash only. Maybe checks.

That looks like it. You just look around and find what you need. They have a LOT of bigger sizes outside. They will help you find it but it's more fun to wander around. They have always been real friendly to me. He was out in the middle of DIA the first time I ever went to him. He had a slab of 5 inch thick 7075 alloy that was tombstone shaped that was about 4 foot wide and 6 foot tall. The last time I was out there they had a couple pair of cylinder heads for a V8. He said he had no idea what was wrong with them. The 4 aluminum wheels sitting next to them had one of the bolt holes spaced wrong. Take you own measuring tools, 6 inch rule or mics or whatever you need to find a piece. If I bring a sample I usually show it to some one first so they know you brought it with you.

I bought the piece in my avatar form Online Metals. That was an unusual circumstance though. I would have bought from Alreco but I wasn't real mobile at the time.

As a by the way, I think the Alreco is Aluminum Recycling Company. That's the way I remember it.

Plus one for Alreco. Most places will only sell full length or charge insane prices to cut down stock. Alreco is the best source in town for anything aluminum for projects like yours.

Dude, if you're a tinkerer, you are soooo screwed! Looks like a motherload there.
