So my daughter has been watch this English dubbed telenovella in Netflix. As it is geared toward pre-teens, you can imagine that it is even worse than a regular telenovella. On top of everything, the dubbing is atrocious, and now that it's been dubbed I can clearly understand just how high the level of stupidity is within the plot.

I've been giving her a hard time about it for at least a week now, and it got me thinking that I used to watch a show when I was little that my dad absolutely hated. I later found out from my mom that he hated it so much that he threw the video tape away. I hardly remember anything about that show beyond that it was named Will Quack Quack.

What is a show you used to watch, band you used to listen to, person you used to date, car you used to drive, etc, that your parents just hated?

Have parties in their house when they left town.

My parents have seen way more episodes of South Park than I have.

Monty Python TV shows and movies as a teen.

Ultraman and Speed Racer as a kid.

My Dad was not keen on "that Jap crap" or the sacrilegious stuff in Python.

I wasn't keen on Barney when my kids were small. I did eventually find the Barney add-on for Doom when it came out. Made me feel a little better to put the purple dino under the chainsaw [Flower]

My parent hated my music. But what parents don't hate what their kids listen to?

I saw this post coming, just didn't know who it'd come from.

Last few years of school, protesting the establishment, hand to hand conflicts with the jocks and others, cutting school, joy riding, drinking / partying. Then came motorcycles and tattoos.

Wow you haven't changed much since you were a kid...........................

[Coffee]

My dad hated my "Metal Devil worship" music; Sepultura, Metallica, Slayer, Testament.............drove him nuts. Even grown up he hated it and I would torture him with it.

Walking in on them having sex?

[Coffee] C'mon...somebody had to.

J/K... Fortunately that never happened. I probably would've hated that more than they did. When my mom would ask me why I did something when I knew it was wrong and I'd say, "I don't know."

That's my dad. He has been dead since 2000 and I'm sad that I can't say I miss him. I will say that he gave me a roof, food, and clothes tho so it's not all bad I guess. I wish I'd had a real father.

My mother thinks I'm still her little, blue-eyed boy.

Guess I was too for the most part. I can't really remember them hating anything in particular that I did, or being pissed off much. I was a fairly mellow kid. Lord knows I had my moments though. Usually involved guns when home alone.

Now, my wife and I vs. our grandson and/or his mother - oh Jesus......

Guess I'd just be gone riding my bike somewhere within a mile or two and forget about time. Mom worried that I wasn't to be found or something.

Sucked in school, so that pissed them off I guess too.

I listened to a bunch of bands in highschool and none of them were christian rock.

The band that drew my mother's ire the most was the Deftones.

Multiple CDs and clothing were confiscated over a couple years. I kept a dollar amount in damages.

When I got married, I told her she would need to reimburse me if she ever wanted to see grandchildren.

She wrote me a check. I never cashed it. I have it in a frame.

Apparently the Deftones aren't all that bad.

I turned into a teenage girl, and dated an absolute a$$hole.

But mostly the teenage girl part. AWFUL.

Music hasn't changed much from the 90's. My parents thought rock n roll folks really worshipped the devil. I just don't like the pop music much and have three girls.

My dad hated when I put tools in the wrong spot.

I never got caught. Used to piss my mom off something terrible.

And coasting through school with B average when just a few hours a week of home work would have produced A's.

So I'm assuming she listened to "Pink Cellphone" and went absolutely ballistic? Hopefully she didn't stick around for the epilogue.

I had excessive speeding tickets. I missed losing my license due to maxing out the points by three days. I wasn't as bad as my dad was at that age or my younger sister was at the time so I pretty much coasted through everything.

My speeding habit, my devil music, my porn habit ( who wasn't into porn? ), my choice of "looser" friends. My very messy room ( more so my mom then my dad), my laziness. That's enough for now

My dad didn't understand Dylan, at all. Heck, listening to him now, I don't get it either. But, that was a different time. I do know that my dad also bristled when I casually showed him that I knew more than him about a LOT of things. He was, instead of happy, very distressed by this. That about wraps up my dad. He did serve as a bad example, so he wasn't completely worthless. My mother, however, was yar. (Watch "Philadelphia Story").
