Been working on my truck. Replaced upper control arms w/ball joints, both lower ball joints, and one coil spring. Still have one spring to go. Yippee. Sore all over. I'm too old for this shit.

When my son calls me I'll be taking a queen bed frame and mattress/box springs (brought back from my recent trip to KY) to his apartment to replace the full sized bed he has. Not sure what I'm going to do with the old stuff. Too bad we can't leave them @ his apartment dumpster. (Or can we?)

Also gotta hang a TV mount in my bedroom along with a shelf beneath for DirecTV box & DVD player.

My wife is going to be jealous. She'd love to go see Joan Jett. But we're up at Copper Mountain at a music festival. About to go down and watch Buckwheat Zydeco. My youngest brother is playing bass for Jimmy Vaughan this evening to close out the concert.

I sure miss Stevie. Have fun!

I'll be putting on a brisket in a couple of hours. Just puttering around the house for Labor Day, trying to get things prepped for company arriving on Tues.

Gonna throw some steaks on the grill a little later, and sauté up some baby Bella's, onions & throw in some roasted chillies to cover the steak.
Serve it up with some Olathe sweet corn on the cob, a baked sweet potato with galic bread on the side.
Hamburgers with blue cheese, baked beans and potato salad for tomorrow.

Yesterday got in a little range time, bought a 525 rd box of Rem Golden Bullet .22lr for $32, had a nice dinner, rode over to Cabela's to spend a $25 gift card (bought some .38spl range ammo. Today I woke up early, got in a nice motorcycle ride to Estes Park and back, had a late lunch with an old neighbor who's in town for a visit, bought myself a Samsung tablet as an early birthday present my sons will pay for LOL, just got done with a brief meeting with a client, chilling for now until dinner with my older son, his wife and the world's cutest 23 month old little boy.

Tomorrow, no rest, back to laboring for "da man" LOL.

Chores around the house, prepping meat & bread for the smoker, washed the wife's car (she was freaked, I hate washing cars and that was maybe 3rd time I have done it for her in nearly 20 yrs).

Going to replace switch on tractor then spend evening on porch smoking meat and drinking beer with wife and dog. Maybe stock car race on in the background.

Wasn't having anything planned as the wife has to work starting tonight for the next 5 days. This normally happens to us.

Then last minute planned a simple get together with another forum member just to have some resemblance of a holiday. :)

We'll probably do a day trip to the mountains tomorrow, as I'll be ending my 7 day work week at 8am tomorrow.

I've been digging up established bushes and trees for over a week now. Pulling stumps with a high lift jack is a LOT more work than with a truck.

Dragging the wife up to Pawnee tomorrow to help me sight in my muzzle list.

Just got back from Indonesia. I started my journey home about 5 PM Thursday MDT with a short night's sleep. Got an unexpected extra night in Sumatra due to forest fires cutting visibility down to about 200 m at the airport (no planes allowed in) then a short nap in Singapore followed by urgent phone calls to get rebooked to come home (cell phone didn't work in Singapore and the pay phones didn't like United's toll-free number) and a few short cat naps on planes since then. Tomorrow will get haircut, groceries, and meat.

Trying to quit smoking. Again.

Saturday morning at about 2:00 am was when I had my last smoke.

No, I don't really want to shoot anyone.....no, really.

Coincidentally, this house would be the absolute WORST house to invade right now........just sayin... ;)

Cool we fixed up the '64 C-10 awhile back...coil springs for lowered vehicles make it an easy job...hang the front end in the ar and the springs are loose.

Labor day - sleeping, cuz i worked Sun nite/Mon morning

Wish I could have kept my '72 C10, it was a sweet truck in great shape, would have been an excellent rebuilder. But alas, we must move on.....

Today I must labor some more, got that last spring to replace. Hope there's no bloodletting involved.

Oh, we had a fire in the backyard fire pit last night. Smoked a 'gar and cooked a weenie. Big time holiday festivities!

I hope you had a great trip. We are embarking tomorrow.. Japan, Singapore, Indonesia and Australia. The volcano eruption in Java may cause some issue for the Bali flight, but hey She insists on going to the island every year.

The trip was great. Just be aware that international travel requires a certain degree of mental flexibility. Also get a NON tollfree number to contact your airlines if you need to -- the payphones in SIN don't like dialing toll free numbers in the US and neither of my cell phones (one GSM, one CDMA) worked in the terminal. My issue in Indonesia was caused by the forest fires in Sumatra -- airports in 4 regions were shut down and flights delayed or canceled for at least 2 days. I don't blame the airlines or airports either -- visibility on Friday was about 200 m (official reports claimed just over 300 m but I couldn't see the tower 2 football fields away except as a silhouette).

I love the SIN airport -- if I had to be "stuck" in an airport anywhere, that would be my #1 choice.

Anything singapore is great! I have had to stay for over 12 hours in changi airport - it's like a 24 hours mall with shower and sleeping cubicle!

I usually activate global feature on my ATT plan.. 880 881 prefix works on toll free.

As far as the smog, it's always like that in the fall. These billion dollar Palm plantations burn down their field annually
