My persistence with CenturyLink has finally paid off, I've gotten a job offer from them! Have filled out all the online forms and stuff, going for the pee test this afternoon. The ship isn't quite docked yet, but it's definitely in port and pulling into it's berth. Joy oh joy!

Hate to be a killjoy here, but the first thing to do after a period of unemployment is rebuild your emergency fund (3-6 months of living expenses). Then pay down any high interest debt you accrued. Then buy guns. You won't improve your physical security with more guns, but you'll improve your financial security quickly.

Clout?? Not at all. Just one of the folks in our prayer group is someone higher up the food chain, within CL. Not that it matters, but it never hurts.

This will be in the NROC dept., one of the Network Operations teams, not sure of the details yet. My background is in all aspects of Central Office Equipment Installation, from steelwork to installing, testing and troubleshooting damn near any kind of circuit. Predominantly optical carrier and transport. Also CO Tech and route maintenance, for years I maintained 15 remote sites around the state plus our CO in Denver.

Congrats! I got laid off after the merger. Had 9 years in and I got 9 months severance. It was a good deal. Still have a few friends that work there
