Ahoy,

My girlfriend and I moved to Englewood from Upstate New York back in July. We are really liking Colorado so far: lots of stuff to do, and nice people! Oh, and walking out of a store with a handgun after a simple exchange of legal tender and a background check is AWESOME! There hasn't been a single day where I've missed living in New York.

Figured I'd drop in and say 'Hello'.

If anyone reading this wants to share information on any of the below topics, it'd be super helpful:

Places to shoot outdoors "close" to Denver. I heard there is a place in Black Hawk near Elk Park Rd and Apex Valley.
Great roads to ride motorcycles on. My girlfriend and I both ride.
Jobs for project engineers/managers in automation/manufacturing
Jobs for mechanical design engineers (for my girlfriend)

Cheers,
Calvin

Welcome, join the fray.

I don't think exchange of legal tender and background check is AWESOME, but am sure it is an improvement over what you are used to.[emoji106]

HUGE improvement over the concealed carry permitting "process" in New York. Each county has its own process and requirements. It's a joke and there are tons of judges known to tell people to screw off.

Another fun thing is that you need to get ammo shipped to an FFL if you order online. It's a complete joke.

By comparison, Colorado is gun-Heaven. (For the record, I think FFL transfers for private sales, and magazine restrictions are completely insane.)

I have clicked on a thread entitled "Hey-Diddly-Ho". This was NOT on my bucket list.

Still, welcome to the weird side! I spent some time in NY in the '70's...I got better.
