Stevens Model 311 Series-F

I got this shotgun in a trade and was wondering it's market value. It's a 1968 Stevens Model 311 Series F. Receiver is case hardened. Has some bluing wear and some scratches on the stock but it's a cool old shotgun. 60931609326093360934

Based on what I know about them. They have a hardwood stock that is not walnut. Very solid guns, great shooters. Just don't have much resale demand or collector interest. I would say $200 to $225, my book says $275 if 100%. Would be fun to make a coach gun with 18" barrels.

Thanks man. I've seen the prices all over the place on them. Is that due to them not popping up for sale much?

I have a very similar model to yours, it is also made by Savage, the Fox B. It has Walnut furniture and a vent rib and yet is still only worth about $100 more than yours. I think the value of these is really tied to the geographical area your in. It seems here in the Colorado front range they are not as popular as they once were, they may bring more in your area.

I think the tendency these days, everyone wants a semi-auto of some type. Good old style side x side (sxs) shotguns don't get the attention or money they deserve given the workmanship it takes to build them. I really like bird hunting with a sxs. I seem to shoot them fairly well. I don't think I would give my sxs up because the first 12 ga. shotgun I learned to shoot was a Stevens 311.

I don't know why there aren't more up for sale? I suspect when people shoot them they realize how well they shoot and don't sell them.

You might be surprised at what you could get for it. I had the same gun in 20 ga in about the same condition. Put it up for sale @ $350.00 and had people fighting over it.

I think it's awesome. Really looking forward to shooting it. I'll decide if I wanna keep it after I put a few rounds downrange. Def a great looking shotty.

These are great shotguns. I had one in 16ga that cleaned up great. What gauge is this one? Looking at the pictures, I'm guessing 12ga.

Value jumps considerably if it is a 410 bore with going prices ranging between $500 to over $700.
