Looking for suggestions. I really like Rosatis at 100th and Wads, but it's a little farther than I want to drive for a pizza, it is familiar to me as it is a original Chicago franchise.

That one appears to be closed for good.
Yea I just looked em up, it had been a while.
Fuhgidabowdit is really good, one location in Brighton and I think another in Thornton. Not really NW but it's an option of you are out this way
Is there still a Beau Jo's around 80th and Wads? You can get a good pie out of them if you're careful with your order. Not really traditional Chicago style, though.
EDIT: Just looked at their website, looks like they're at 53rd and Wads these days.

Have to agree, although I've never been able to track down the Thornton location.

It's closed I believe. It was called 3 Brothers Pizzeria for a while.
There's a New York pizza place in Broomfield.

Okay so I'm not crazy. Their Brighton website says "Thornton location now open", but when I drove by the address given, nothing. Oh well, it's worth the drive to Brighton.

Midway just east of Nickel in Broomfield. Good pizza!

There is a "Detroit Style" pizza on 32nd in the highlands that I have considered trying out. But buying a pizza just for myself is not something I do on a regular basis.
http://bluepandenver.com/
Then there is "Jersey style" on 38th in Wheat Ridge at Right Coast Pizza. I can not stand the east coast cracker crust of thin style pizza so I have not tried them either.

The toppings on the Detroit style pizza are welfare, crime and unemployment.

That's the one. Thanks.
I had no idea they had a website. Lol.

My wife didn't have very good things to say about Marcos, but when I tried it, I thought it was pretty good. Maybe she caught them on a bad day.

Old Chicagos but don't get a beer tour card, it will drain your wallet quick.

Yeah, Old C's is average at best.
The only pizza we've had in Denver was Mici downtown. I'm not much help past that.

The one in Thornton originally opened as a partner to the one in Brighton, but they must have had a falling out because the name changed. It's on the northwest corner of 136th and Colorado behind the O'reileys.
My favorite pizza ever is Protos, they have a few locations, down by rei downtown, by the Broomfield events center, and in layfaette. The proto pie, dipped in balsamic vinegar is the best thing ever.

You hit the new[er] place up off or near 8th ave yet? Supposedly around the court house / old downtown area

I've been to Protos, it was very good. I tried Costco pizza the other day, just a slice, it was terrible.

We haven't. We normally go to Santerramos if we're over there and in the mood for pizza.

Did I mention Papa Murphy's [gohome]
Are they worth the drive??
For someone who has eaten their fair share of NYC pizza and knows the round trip mileage for you, "No." If however, you find yourself in the Broomfield area, the pizza is better than the average Colorado fare, IMO.
Pizza Alley on W 32nd & Lowell Blvd. NY style, they have the best sliced sausage pizza around. Been around since the 70's

I know it doesn't satisfy the OP's location real well, but since we are providing locations, maybe it will help someone. I mentioned them in another pizza thread, Franks NY Pizza is real good in my non NY opinion. Washington and Thornton PKWY.
