View Full Version : places to shoot prairie dogs
I had a place to shoot p-dogs down on south Sante Fe but the neighbors put up an RV storage place. So now it's a no go anymore.
My friend and dad liked to go shooting p dogs and we are good at it safe and respectful. I was hoping you some of the online family could help me out finding a new place?
Thanks in advance for anything you do.

I don't think you're supposed to eat them....

Lol.
From what I've seen, they have been pretty sparse this year.

"Andrew Zimmern comes to New Mexico . . . and learns to roast prairie dogs with members of a Pueblo tribe"
When hunting on the Western Slope this year, they have been fat, close and plentiful.
Not sparse at all in my travels up and down I-25 he11 all week. But, no place that would allow you to actually pull over and pop a few... so, sorry, no help.
I wrote that from my phone but seen what a great job auto correct did I had to fix it up a little bit.
Someplace local would be great but if I have to travel out a ways to clean up some prairie dogs for a rancher it would be worth it.

No shit. there is No place local in the metro area. The ones where you can go, people don't give up that info .
I've got them all around me. Can't shoot a one. Have to drive 2.5hrs to Western Nebraska to my buddy's land where you're still free to rid the prairie of vermin w/o the fear of a hippie turning you into the law and losing all your gats for basically doing nothing wrong. Poor poor prairie rats. If hippies don't stand up for them, who will?
Prairie dogs aka Prairie Rats aka Prairie Din Du Nuffins
