Let the wait begin to the sheriff's appeal of our stupid laws. 4-5 months is typical.

By "a group of sheriffs," don't they really mean ALL but two of the Colorado sheriffs? I think I may have heard that some of the sheriffs had to drop out?

What chances do we have with this court?

I know the Boulder sheriff isn't on board with this kind of thing...:(

As a side note, what does one call a group of sheriffs? A Constabulary? A Badge? A Doughnut Shop? A Pig Pen?

Hmmm I could file an Amicus Curiae but I doubt they really bother to read them. Still important to have success at this stage.

OK, while I guessed closely the meaning, of course I had to look up the use.

That said, if you have info that would help, why not offer it?

I am right there with you. I have been considering filing a brief. Technically they are required to read them, or at least be briefed on them, so they can judge whether or not to admit them. My problem is that it would still need to hinge on what exactly is being appealed at this point since introducing new facts or evidence during an appeal doesn't really get you very far. That said, the whole 'unenforcable' aspect is a window big enough to drive a truck through.

My best guess is that we will not prevail. They will apply a low standard as did the trial judge and sustain the trail court.

If we were Democrats, I'm sure we'd have a private discussion about what kind of dirt we have on the judge, or how we could influence him/her otherwise...

but since we have morals, we depend upon them to do the right thing.

Sadly I feel you are correct.

You might be onto something there. In the interests of justice I would like to make sure that whatever they have on him doesn't sway his opinion to the left. So in order to keep from going down the full Democrats path lets promise not to put a whole race into welfare slavery and rig elections with dead voters and multiple fraudulent votes.
