Obama is giving another statement today at 1:30pm our time. What do you think is going to happen? Nothing? Anything?

He is going to rattle his petulant, narcissistic little pie hole and whine how we need more gun control.
He will say "I" 87 times.
He will announce he will use all his power (hey, he gots a phone and a pen).
He will berate the NRA and GOP (it's all there fault afterall)
In the end he won't do shit, because he cant.
Considering snatching up some uppers before prices skyrocket again.

I have read one report that said he had an "AR-type" long gun and that PD found mags loaded with 5.56 at the scene. Nothing else though.

With the way the guy was operating, and the way most of the people were reacting/responding (read: shutting down) he could have had a 10/22.

I ordered another PSA build kit last night. Prices are good on them so it doesn't hurt to have extras.

It's regarding one of his cabinet members resigning and an assistant XXX stepping up.
Does anyone really care what this "CIC" says. It's either to incite / inflame police hatred, or announce another LINE IN THE SAND.
ALSO IF one looks at the picture it's clearly a 10/22

Yes- it's a 10/22 in that pic, but that has nothing to do with what he had on him at the college.

Wife saw on AOL, I think this morning, so far they said a long gun and three hand guns. Really surprised we haven't seen the statement of "He had a fully automatic Assault Glock with tons of high capacity magazines" yet. [LOL]

Has more to do with the local leos I suspect. The sheriff came out immediately blaming the man not the tool.
Chris Mintz, the guy who charged the shooter was shot multiple times (5 or 7) and is smiling in his hospital bed this morning. Does not sound like .223, to me.

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/officers-respond-report-shooting-umpqua-community-college-n437051
Multiple law enforcement sources told NBC News that four weapons were recovered from the scene in Roseburg, in the southwest corner of the state about 60 miles south of Eugene — three handguns and a long gun similar to an AR-style rifle. Investigators also found several magazines for 5.56mm ammunition and a ballistics vest, one of the sources said.If you're in the market for an AR now is good time to buy. Otherwise keeps your complaints to yourselves if/when prices rise.
Saw a few articles stating "assault rifle"
According to "journalists,"
Ruger 10/22 = "assault rifle" = "AR-style rifle"

Funny, how Obama isn't calling for gun control in Syria, Iran or Russia.

Cops dropped them in shootout/hurried response?
Never mind, AP says it was a Del-Ton :(

I'm already seeing posts on social media clamoring for more gun restrictions. How its a "shame" we overlook it so people can play rambo. This stuff hurts my brain.

Hmm. I thought firearms were already prohibited on that campus? I'm thinking maybe more restrictions aren't the answer. But what do I know?
I wonder how many "mass shootings" go unreported at gun shows, sporting goods stores, gun stores, etc? You know, places where guns and ammunition are plentiful.

All 13 firearms were purchased legally, 6 were found at the school.
.556 Del-Ton, no less. HMMM...must be a new caliber. So much for .50 Beowulf.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives provided the information late Thursday in an incident report obtained by The Associated Press. The guns included a 9mm Glock pistol and .40-caliber Smith & Wesson, both traced to the suspect.
He also had a .40-caliber Taurus pistol traced to someone in Portland and a .556-caliber Del-Ton.
It does stink that people blame guns! Without a person using it it's just a piece of metal and plastic. I get why they think gun restrictions will stop gun violence, but it won't. Sad what happened!

What blows my mind is that many of the big box stores ban their employees carrying, while allowing customers. I just can't figure out who they think they would offend by letting employees carry.
Of the few people that I've known working at these stores, most respected the rule to make sure they didn't lose their jobs, but at least a couple admitted to keeping a couple shells of 12ga buck in their pocket to throw into a display shotgun at the gun counter they worked at if necessary.

It's a shame those people are allowed to post on the internet, so that they can play politics and talk about violating other's constitutional rights.
The AR-15 is the most popular rifle in America. Why would the use of one by some mental defective make it worthy of 'special' attention?
The Virginia Tech shooter used a pair of Glocks and only 1 magazine was larger than 10 rounds -- 32 dead, 17 wounded.
The crime here is the mental defectives that can't understand lawlessness and how 'gun free zones' become 'free kill zones' of law abiding people.
It's a shame those people are allowed to post on the internet, so that they can play politics and talk about violating other's constitutional rights.
It does amaze me how quick they are to know what's best for me while telling me I don't know what's best for them.

I keep hearing gun free zone but concealed carry was allowed on the campus.
You can conceal carry at Auraria in Denver too but I've only meet two people who carried there. In my years of education, I didn't run into many hardcore pro gun student who had extra cash to spend on firearms and ammunition. Age, income, CCW class(time&cost) are a few of the barrier that college student face in order to carry. I would bet less than 1% of college classes has someone legally concealed carry while in session.
I knew of one guy who carried at Auraria Campus when we were there 10 years ago. He's a local politician now.
Most people do not carry an AED or fire extinguisher on their person. When we encounter a victim of heart arrhythmia or a fire, we must do the best we can until better or more appropriate tools arrive.
I am thinking of an AR inside a wall cabinet in the hallway of public buildings. On the glass door is printed: In case of Mass Shooting, Break Glass!
Be safe.

It's my understanding that the campus allowed carry, but CCW was not allowed in the buildings (which does a whole lot of good)
but I hear the point about college students not generally carrying,,,
But would the fact that it's ALLOWED deter a deranged shooter from choosing that location?
All I hear on SM today is "So you think not changing anything is the solution? SOMETHING MUST BE DONE!".

"so you think punishing innocent people that DIDN'T commit murder is the solution?"
And they'll undoubtedly say something that a little inconvenience is for the greater good... so how about we drop their internet to dialup speeds, that way that can't post up as much about violating civil rights.
The other thing I like to ask is "why GUN violence, you don't care if someone is beaten to death with a club?"
The point is, it SHOULD be about the deranged individual, not the tool(s) he used to commit crimes.
Our mental health system is an utter failure- fix it. No, I don't know how- I'm an engineer, not a psychologist.
It just amazes me that a group that is so "free choice and dont tell me how to live" is so quick to tell everyone else what they need.

Yeah, but not in the buildings where classes are held. What are you doing walking around campus with no classes?

I carry 100% of the time on campus. The idea that one of these wackos could come to hurt innocent people, and I'd be there twiddling my thumbs when I could've done something...I won't have it.

Douglas County (OR) sheriffs office are good people, at least the ones I met and/or heard of in talk in the area. That is of course an opinion and there are always locals with beef, but you gotta give em props on how they are handling it. BS runs deep in the fk'd world we live in so always look beyond the surface for the truth, even if it means immersing your head in it.

Let's just let them rewrite the whole Constitution.
Why are Brits such wankers these days?
Socialism
Let's just let them rewrite the whole Constitution.
If they thought they could get away with it, they would. Of course the "they" is a large group. While they won't come out and say it in most cases, most liberals have no use for the constitution, the men who wrote it nor the foundations on which it was built. They see it as an archaic historical document and believe the framers of the constitution would be embarrassed by the NRA and gun enthusiasts in general. I have had more than one tell me in the last week that I should get a powdered wig and a slave if I wanted to continue to live in the dark ages.

Unfortunately, this is the mentality I'm seeing more and more. In their eyes, we've advanced beyond what the constitution would have foreseen and therefore. should be modified to fit the world today.
I have had more than one tell me in the last week that I should get a powdered wig and a slave if I wanted to continue to live in the dark ages.
Free men own guns, slaves don't.

It's quite amazing that they have the right to say that. They'll conveniently claim that right when they're burning the flag or hypocritically silencing your religious freedoms won't they?

Perhaps you misunderstand things. THEY have the right to free speech, YOU have the right to obey them. It's the liberal/progressive way.

So that's what this is all about
Cerakote your rifles. Make them the colors of the rainbow. Then while at the range you can fire one in both hands...you know, akimbo, while yelling "Taste the Rainbow Bitches!" For added affect you could accessorize your multicolored rifles with sparkles and some My Little Pony decals.
I would imagine you would not need to worry about crowded ranges while you are there. [flamingo]
I believe that most of the US population has no concept of "freedom", nor "greater good" anymore. The religion of liberalism is really that of control and hate of anyone who actually wants freedom, personal responsibility, and wisdom. The US is on its way to Septic Shock.

Usually the media and cops are all over spewing what style of firearm was used in a "mass shooting".
Either I'm missing something, but this time around there hasn't been a word. Just that guns were found and magazines.
Normally the terms automatic, semi automatic, assault, are abused in the first few hours of reporting.
Seems strange there hasn't been mention. Wonder if it's because the firearm wasn't an evil black rifle or one that fits into their agenda of easily scaring the uneducated.
Thoughts? Conspiracies? What ya thinking

No we don't. With a little time used SEARCHING / GOOGLING the answer can be found. It's not 4th grade do you're own homework.
