I concur.

Hard to tell if he was targeted, or this is just a coincidence. If targeted we've got a big problem coming our way.

If targeted, the problem is already here, we just haven't fully realized it yet.

Might need a mod to merge threads and change title of other thread. But yeah....wtf!?

Common sense knife control is needed. Hope he pulls through. There's no reason a person this high profile isn't allowed to carry in CA.

I read that he's possibly facing charges. Perhaps he was in a fight of some kind?

EDIT: I just re-read the article that I first looked at this morning and the portion about charges was taken out.

There's no reason any person shouldn't be able to legally carry in California or anywhere else for that matter. If you are legal to own a gun you should be able to carry it.

Absolutely! I don't care how high profile a person is. Those types of comments are something I'd expect from a liberal elitist.

My sarcastic comment was made with current CA law concerning CCW in California. I can't change it.

Got a little too big for his britches maybe? Fame and a free promotion can do that to you.

Nothing much good happens after midnight....especially around bars. Hope Stone wasn't the instigator.

I was thinking similar but didn't want to be the first guy to throw shade at a guy who so recently did something heroic.

Must have been an "assault knife".

Or maybe someone at the bar had a Napoleon Complex and needed to prove how tough he is by taking a shot at a "hero"

Yup, could be that too. Interested to see how this develops.

The story I've read is that he was defending a female and was attacked by four Asian chaps. He knocked the first assailant the f**k out and then was held by the 2nd as the 3rd stabbed him several times. He was in critical condition but has been upgraded to stable as of this morning. This is also from another chap who has watched the security footage several times. It will be interesting as the details emerge but I'm rather surprised how quickly some are to try to knock him down w/o any details on internet forums. Does it make you feel better about yourself? I would think he has earned the benefit of the doubt before more details emerge if nothing else. Sheesh.

Can't say I disagree with your last sentence. A hero one month gets beat down on an Internet forum over a bunch of ASSumptions. Wouldn't expect that around here.

No one was beating him down. With zero information, we were throwing out ideas. No one is upset that terrorists were first thought to have been the culprit I bet.

That post doesn't seem like he was given much benefit of the doubt in lieu of actual details. I didn't want to point fingers but weren't we just calling this dude a hero a week or two ago?

Looks like he's asking a question to me. He's not exactly trashing him, or even coming up with something ridiculous.

If I was famous for stopping a terrorist attack, I would be CCW whether it was "legal" or not. Too many libtards in USA anymore. Too many Obamas, Hillarys, Bloombergs etc. They all have their armed bodyguards and just want to pass laws to make the average citizen unable to protect themselves. Every gun law is an infringement on the Constitution. I am just disappointed Spencer Stone did not shoot his assailants to death.

Oh come on, because he typed it in the form of a question he wasn't doubting character or questioning motive in lieu of facts or details? Stop splitting hairs because it's pretty obvious to anyone reading what he meant. He even went on to make a statement answering his own question to dive the point he "wasn't" making home.

I hope he recovers fully! In the Global War On Terror, he should get the US Medal of Honor. The French have it right and the US fumbles.

Thanks? Not really sure why it was a discussion in the first place. All I was asking is that some here 'Do unto others' and especially considering who the subject is & what's he's done it would seem that's the absolute LEAST we can do as a society.

Someone has seen too many movies. Lots of times when you are stabbed or shot you don't 'act' like it and that's what people need to realize about stopping a threat. Shooting someone once or twice doesn't automatically mean they drop instantly and it's even worse with knives. Lots of times people don't even know they've been shot or stabbed until time passes and things settle a little bit.
