View Full Version : Democratic debate, aka liberal 'news' hosts liberals talking about themselves
Anyone else ready to watch? Starting any moment now. My guess, CNN throwing softballs and not asking tough questions. Sanders will avoid saying socialist, and Hillary won't be asked if she's expecting prison.
Anyone got any good drinking games for this?
Take a drink every time someone blames the Republicans?

Won't be watching.
Already they've sullied it, they're doing the national anthem to a video projection of the flag... No real flag present.

That's because they burned all the real flags.
I'm not watching it, I hear the lies and see the believers suck up the lies every day. I will be looking at the KHOW twitter feed though, that'l be good for a few laughs.
Michael Brown's Twitter feed is amazing! He's got zingers for days! Dana Loesch and Greg Gutfeld are pretty good, too.

I followed the Donald just for this debate.
Actor James Woods also has some good comments.
Yah, Michael Brown is ripping the communists a new one.
The winner will be the one who played the best Santa Claus.
Guess who pays?
You're right!! YOU PAY!!
Work harder, millions of welfare shits depend on you.
Illegal immigrants are now called "Dreamers" by Clinton
What are you guys talking about? Am I missing something noteworthy?

No. Not really. I'm turning it off, nothing being said or asked that is not expected. I'm sure they're some unicorns backstage....
Nah, just diseased humans flapping their jaws on television. It's a mind numbing experience I could only watch for 5 minutes.
But the libs have the whole family in front of the TV, with popcorn.

Oooh. Look how smart they are. They should ALL be president.

Sounds a lot like the Republican debates. Too bad there are no REAL debates in this country.
Sounds a lot like the Republican debates. Too bad there are no REAL debates in this country.
You got that right.
Should be a debate on the merits of capitalism vs communism, free markets vs command economy, freedom vs enslavement, but then some prole might learn something and no current party wants that.
In summary:
Sanders: billionaires are evil. America is horrible. Socialism rules!
Hillary: I'm a woman, vote for me.
Webb: I'm 1992's democratic party's best candidate.
O'Malley: durrr climate change!
Chafee: "Y'all should be happy I'm still breathing at the end of this."
Oh and all of them attacked the NRA. When asked who the enemy they're most proud they made, Webb was the only one who said his wasn't an American.
If the Republicans can't beat these idiots then they deserve to lose and the country is seriously doomed.
My response to the debate:
https://youtu.be/DTc--4jz0GQ
And ETA: it all started when Sheryl Crow butchered the national anthem. Holleee sheet! Now I'm sick to my stomach after all that.

TLDR of Democratic opening statements: "the problem in America is rich, privileged, white people".
Oh the irony.
My other favorite part: I love that Clinton says Snowden is a criminal, but she thinks everything she did is okay.

I was watching during that pay. I was thinking, "Oh its a problem when HE moves information off of secured servers? "
Ok. Haven't read any of this thread but accidentally caught about twelve seconds of this debate on the news. Specifically Hillary.
Holy hell.... are people really this stupid?
This does it! I am finally ready to vote for Pat Paulsen. The old timers on the forum will get it.

Oh, I wasn't referring to the general public. I know they're all a bunch of brain dead dip shits. I actually meant the candidates.
If like someone to run the numbers on repaying the National debt over a 10 year period where the 1% are charged say...75%, and all the rest of the tax brackets are adjusted to pay a share according to their earnings, just to drive home the point that we can't just rely on taxing the rich back into the black. I want the people who feel like they are lower middle class enough to dodge the communism bullet to see the reality of how much they'll have to contribute to even make a dent. Then I'd drive home the point that since the government has a very long history of NEVER reducing spending, that all those taxes would take hold, and we'd still make no progress toward financial stability.

I would never watch live TV unless it was a sporting event I actually cared about.
I will not watch either dim or gop debates.

A plan could be put on paper but in reality it can't be done. Not in 10 years, anyway. And the wealthy won't hang around long enough for the gov't to take that much of their money.

Lots of jaw dropping comments last night. When asked about her apparent hipocrisy about being one of the "1%", Clinton said she worked really hard and started out poor and wanted everyone to have the opportunities she had. The implication is only she worked hard to become a 1%er and everyone else cheated, stole, bilked their way up. The utter and complete stupidity and lack of simple critical thinking by the dems never fails to shock me.
According to an article from 2011 the top 1% earned a combined AGI of $1.3 trillion with them paying about 37% of their income to taxes which works out to 480 billion in taxes. http://money.cnn.com/2011/10/20/news/economy/occupy_wall_street_income/
Lets say you double the income to an insane 75%?? You now have an increase of 480 billion per year.
Debt is roughly 18 trillion??? Its going to take 37 years to pay off the debt.. However we have an approx deficit of 486 billion right now so that would mean we would ALMOST break even.
Again these are 2011 numbers for the AGI.
I watched clips on youtube. What I got out of it was.......I haven't sent the NRA a check in a long time. I need to get on that ASAP.

I know all that, but many people don't realize those things. It'd be like those reports on how long oil will last if everything stays the same until it runs out. I want to know if the numbers would pan out or not in a static report. We all know it wouldn't work out in real life.

Most Americans want to be part of the FSA, and the FSA wants some other American to pay for it.

The problem is that the people who have the massive amounts of money can also afford the best lawyers and as such they will most likely never pay their "fair share" (however anyone wants to define that term).
I am trying something new this election cycle and it has made my life much happier...I'm staying completely out of the loop as far as all of this preliminary candidate business. As much as you like candidate X, chances are you aren't even going to have a chance to vote for that candidate because candidate Y has a lot more campaign dollars to spend or candidate Z is back-room dealing like a mofo in order to secure the nomination.
I get very annoyed when people say "Tax the rich more! Pay their fair share!". I get it, they have LOTS of money but I don't know how you can demand someone give up 75% (or whatever number they'd be satisfied using). That's pure insanity. I also don't see any talk about reducing politician's salary to help things out. Nope, only asking the peons to give up more.
Capital flight is a serious risk, more so now than ever.
That would probably be the best outcome, IMHO. The Laffer Curve can also prove educational.
But worse... What do these Dems think will happen when you take the most capable people in the economy and tell them they are going to be slaves? Those people tend to change their behavior, sometimes them pool their resources and do things.
And I'm not just talking the "rich" here. These plans will hurt the middle class more than anyone. If someone told me my net was now 25% I wouldn't work the way I do now.
We all know excess revenue will be redistributed to buy votes anyway. They won't pay down our debt or start funding liabilities. If the political class that intention we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place.
ETA: Didn't watch, don't care to. Nothing that was said last night changes my mind about Dems. They are the enemy in every way. Ironically they will damage the people they claim to help more than most care to know.

It's already happening... One of our largest clients (I work in IT for a financial management firm) who happens to be a billionaire, is officially an Ex-Pat. He's living in Italy now and has no official residence in the US, intent on avoiding paying double-taxes... he carries an Italian passport. There have to be hundreds or thousands of cases like his where the financial repercussions force their hands...
This whole "financial inequality" thing is preposterous.
I have a simple solution. Those who want to make more money need to apply themselves and work harder.
I'm pretty sure that's how a capitalistic society is supposed to work anyways.
I say if you don't want to be a part of it then maybe moving to an existing communist or socialist country is your best bet.
The problem Ray is that those people are lazy on both accounts. They want somebody else to make the change so hey can have a better life without putting forth the effort, and moving would require work which again those people don't want to do.
the only option I see is to cut their benefits and offer an alternative method of income as in working. Set up farm programs where they need lots of people to do unskilled labor, those willing to show up get paid. No motivation, no money.
Caught a clip this morning where I think Bernie was handing the nomination to Clinton when he said the American people are tired of hearing about her emails.

What's the difference between the democrat debate and the Hobbit?
One has characters that live in a make-believe fantasy world where fictional and surreal ideas can magically come to life. The other is a book/movie.
The other is a book/movie series.
FIFY
The Hobbit, if presented in its entire written form on screen, wouldn't amount to 5 movies. It's a quicker read than watching the movies.
