View Full Version : No charges in IRS probe
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/10/23/justice-department-no-criminal-charges-for-ex-irs-official-lerner/
The Justice Department announced Friday afternoon that it will not bring criminal charges against Lois Lerner or any other IRS official involved in the targeting of Tea Party groups.
In a letter to leaders of the House Judiciary Committee, the department said the investigation into the controversy will be closed -- and while they found "mismanagement, poor judgment and institutional inertia," they found "no evidence that would support a criminal prosecution."
So this is proof there are NO consequences for this kind of bullshit...[Mad]

Stop ruining my Friday. [facepalm]
The administration uses the IRS as a weapon, investigates itself and finds no wrong.
No laughing at Central and S. America anymore. We are officially a banana republic.

a green light for the full weaponization of the gov in all agencies...not unexpected, since the (in)justice dept was weaponized as soon as Beeho took office.

Was there any doubt? There's no accountability on either side.

The ruling elite have sovereign immunity until the entire populace is thoroughly enraged.

Friday afternoon news dump.
Excpected outcome. Rules don't apply to the ruling class.
As expected... but if any of us does something. Expect the long dick of the law at our doorsteps...

I had some long-winded, philosophical response typed up but I reread it and changed my mind. I'm depressed enough by this type of nonsense that I don't need to make it worse.
I'm just gonna have a nice two fingers of bourbon and press on with the evening.
Fucking liberals just aren't gonna be pleased until every single person in the world is as miserable and pathetic as they are.

Earlier this year I received a demand letter for immediate payment of "overdue" penalty for a prior year tax return. Not that I doubted it given my particular filing history, and it wasn't a lot of money considering circumstances, but never, ever, ever had I seen any prior notice. Could not even get through on the phone after repeated attempts to inquire about it before the deadline.
Cork soaking government is so broken it's ridiculous.
You should all be thankful they got that extra $175 out of this deadbeat taxpayer.
Really grinds my gears when I think about having had to pay +$12k extra for 2014.

I would have loved to hear the 'long-winded, philosophical response'. But I can also appreciate a good bourbon when it is desired and warranted.
Wrong-doing was blatantly evident in this investigation. It is just incredibly sad that criminal charges couldn't be produced.
On the up side, Lerner, her career, and her political motivations have been ended. And I personally don't care what her political association was. In my opinion, this wasn't an R vs D thing. It was a justice thing.
It is blatantly apparent that she used her position within our government to further her own political beliefs. That isn't public service. And I'm glad her role withing our government has become a minor footnote in history.
If it was up to me, she would have been jailed immediately after making her own statements and then refusing to answer any committee questions. She's a liar. A corrupt and blatant liar.
I hope she lives an incredibly long and miserable life knowing what she knows and what she did.
Watch the hearings and look at her stature and her eyes. Pure and simple, she looks miserable. I hope that stays with her indefinitely.

This will green light other agencies whose leaders have been looking to see if the IRS can get away with something this obvious and egregious. At least while Beeho is in office, expect to see more widespread political oppression. Likely not change even when an R is in office since most of the bureaucrats are entrenched and have been in their jobs for decades.
Angering? Yes. Surprising? Not a bit. Nothing will come of this, Benghazi, or any other scandal that we all know shows this administration is full of corruption and lies. John Q Public is asleep. Nothing changes, so long as free stuff keeps coming to the FSA.

Surprise, surprise, surprise...
Friday afternoon news dump.

I think it's worse than that. The "rules" (which are no longer the written law) are used as a weapon by the ruling class.
I see it the same way as the recent Obamacare subsidy decision by the Supreme Court... The word "state" doesn't mean state. It had to be changed so Liberals could break the law to win.
The Obama DoJ found no evidence against Obama Treasury (IRS) because Liberals had to break the law to win.
The only thing that shocks me is people still vote for Dems thinking they someday won't be on the menu. If there are no objective laws, then there is nothing to protect anyone.

The fix has been in from the beginning.
IRS possessed Stingray cellphone surveillance gear, documents reveal
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/oct/26/stingray-surveillance-technology-irs-cellphone-tower
It remains unclear how the IRS used the Stingray devices. A spokesman for the agency did not respond to a request for comment.
These are the people who deny FOIA requests, lie under oath, and destroy evidence DURING an investigation. I'm sure they were only using these extra-Constitutional resources to investigate tax cheats. [LOL]
