"Are you some kind of Constitutionalist...crazy guy or something?"
California, of course. Where apparently, our founding document and adhering to our 4th amendment rights makes us crazy.

And cops wonder why decent, law abiding, middle class white folk aren't rushing out there to back them up against the foolishness and slander of the #BlackLivesMatter crowd.

I don't see where anything justified pulling his pistol, but it does concern me that the guy taking the video says "you've done enough to my family". That makes me wonder if there is more to the story than just this video.
I was disappointed - the title of Cops Gone Wild! made me think it was going to be female officers acting out Girls Gone Wild! [Dunno]
From the guy's comments during the video he and/or his family has some kind of history with the local PD. There's more to this story than just this video snippet. I'm not a cop so I can't say if unholstering his weapon was proper, though I suspect it wasn't. I don't get why the guy didn't just take his hand out of his pocket. It seemed like a reasonable request, especially when the cop has a gun drawn. At this point comply to prevent getting shot. It's almost as if the guy was daring the cop to escalate. Not a game I am willing to play. Comply so you can live to have your day in court.

Crazy stuff...going inside would have been the best option but it does appear the officer was out of line.
It looks like he did take his hands out of his pocket...along with everything else in his pocket and set it on the car (when he got the gun pulled on him)

Some sort of history there. Serious chip on the person's shoulder.

Where are the repost police when you need them?
Apparently the officer is still on paid administrative leave and the city is still investigating the incident. He was placed on administrative leave in early August.
The person taking the video, Don McComas has filed a law suit against the officer and the city.

Old video, old news, and silly or not, the photgrapher an asshat.
If you want one of the ones to get legit angry over. Try this (Wrong house for arrest, lets dog out, shoot wildly at dog in crowd missing....) http://thefreethoughtproject.com/insane-video-cops-wrong-house-arrest-dog-out-shoot-dog-crowded-area/
I think the worst of them are in states like NY. We have some dumb dumbs for sure (Weld county continues to be in sorry shape), but I love most any Larimer, Lafayette, and at least half of Lovelands officers I've met. .

Hell, if the cops are harassing me, I'd just get an injunction. A federal court order. They will stay away from you then.

It's like deja vu...all over again.
Another vote for "more to the story". Both sides were too hinky.

I'm thinking if we could nail our politicians, we'd be much better off as a nation.
Think about it.....if you made a bad decision and 200 people from your district that were pissed off at you....could fuk you up the arse because of it, perhaps you would make your decisions a little more wisely on a consistent basis.
Just sayin'.

In Pueblo they removed Angela Giron from the Colorado Senate. And last I looked this cop "from old news" is still on administrative leave...

*puke!
This is a little old.
Brandishing a weapon is a felony. And there is zero justification in that video (we don't know how the call went out).

Accountability? That's racist/sexist/homophonic/etc... We can't even make Dems accountable for fucking up healthcare.

I've heard other officers refer to "Sovereign Citizens" and other whack-a-doodle folk as "Constitutionalists". I wonder what they would say if I corrected them and said no, I am a Constitutionalist, I follow the law and letter of the founding document, does that make me one of those crazies?

Ronin, you have a DUTY to correct them for everyone's sake. "Sovereign Citizens" may be assholes, but "Constitutionalists" should include every US Citizen. After all, if you're not a constitutionalist, what are you? Are you against our constitution? If so, please turn in your badge, etc. [Beer]

Good job team.

No.
The Sovereigns conveniently ignore the 10th Amendment. "Constitutionalist" is a bad name for Sovereigns.

ETA: Awesome answer BG!
Anyone hear about the ccw holder that got shot and killed by an off duty cop recently? It was 3:30ish am and the ccw was on the phone with road side assistance. Off duty was out of uniform. I think they are checking now to see if the call was recorded.
I didn't hear about him having a CCW, but is this the encounter?; http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/21/us/florida-officer-corey-jones-shooting/
I believe so. The report I heard was that he had his CCW and his weapon was not fired.
Annoying to see right in the title of the article that he was supposedly a church drummer.
