Sounds like the guy definitely lost his last screw. Too bad the guy following him with a phone didn't have a weapon on him.
Probably lucky he wasn't. Sounds like the police showed up fast, and with multiple gunshot victims, I wouldn't want to be holding a gun when the police arrived.

My old neighborhood. If I was a profiler, I'd say a veteran or basement dweller who plays too much video games. The area is sort of Bohemian, lots of old Victorian houses. I have eaten at that Wendys a lot of times. Not too much information out right now. Remember this is just my opinion and I haven't lived near there since 2002. I was thinking about going downtown Colorado Springs tonight, but now I will just stay home.

Was detoured while driving down Platte. Was about 11:00ish and we did not know what was going on at the time. Just a lot of cops and taped of roads. Folks were walking around like normal.
Im waiting for the facts on this. To many Libs in this town crying the usual NRA, Conservative blah blah crap on the news sites. Let's see how this turns out. I hate arguing with liberals.

Heard about it when I got home from grocery shopping and immediately texted the family to let them know I wasn't anywhere near it. The dang Boulderite-wannabes are going to have a field day with this one.

Don't worry, whatever gun he used, it was a democrat approved 15 rounds or less killing machine. Not to mention the dems approved of him having this rifle since we now have universal BGCs in our state. In the end, this killing was Democrat certified and democrat approved.
In all seriousness, glad the LEOs arrived quick and put him down before it got much worse.

Wow, glad the cops got to him pretty quick, wish it was faster but at least this won't be a long drawn out media fueled trial.

Part of the problem for media is it happened on Saturday morning ... so they're not going to get much done until Monday. My guess is that if this guy was a right-winger we'd all know his name and his manifesto and browser history would have been published by Saturday afternoon. So I'm guessing that there are going to be facts inconvenient to the leftist agenda with this one.

I'm sure the police know who it was. Why not just tell us the guys name? I'm skeptical anymore. Are there others out there waiting to do the same thing? Even the media admits the authorities are being tight lipped. I guess ignorance is bliss.

There's three reasons not to tell the shooter's name. One is they haven't been able to contact his next-of-kin yet, the second is that he had no ID on him and they're searching "the system" for his name. The third is political correctness (he's got an Arabic name or he's an illegal alien or something along those lines ... in other words he's the kind of bad-guy that us on the right have been warning about and they don't dare let the truth out lest it harm the left). In all honesty I bet its the first or second, but I wouldn't rule out the third.

I bet the left is not saying anything because this couldn't be happening in Colorado. They fixed everything in CO when we ended the "gunshow loophole" 15 years ago and we ended private party trans actions without a BGC 2 years ago. I'm guessing this shooting won't fit the democrat agenda to get Federal BGC's for everyone. Plus I'm guessing they found out this is most likely another leftwing lunatic that none of these leftist laws would have stopped. I'm also betting BO is pissed that it happened here, he wants to point at CO's draconian laws as the way to end these shootings.

Keep in mind the Oregon LEOs stance that the shooter doesn't deserve the recognition and therefor didn't want to name him. Although I guess the Oregon shooter's profile didn't fit the anti's agenda either. I guess we'll see.

I can understand that, so I won't give his name here.
The Gazette released his name (identified by neighbors) and already Westword (I guess that's Denver's version of the CSIndy?) and some internet news aggregator site out of Connecticut called "Heavy" have profiles of the guy up. I also watched his youtube video (an innocuous "welcome to where I'm going to post video blogs" video) read his twitter feed (a handful of innocuous tweets) and his blog (only one entry) and based on the blog entry (a long rambling critique of a sermon given by Bethel Church pastor Bill Johnson) my theory is that he's simply an un-diagnosed and/or un-treated schizophrenic.

Also, a couple of the articles mentioned that a man attempted to render aid to the two women. Makes me wonder if it would have turned out differently if he had combat gauze or some other clotting wound packing. I know not everyone carries that stuff around, but maybe they should.

I have that stuff in a bag in the back of my car, but certainly don't carry it around while I'm away from my vehicle. Besides, with my luck, I'd get sued for trying to save somebody's life. [Roll1]
