View Full Version : Intel on cheap/affordable lowers.
It's been a while since I've built an AR, budget is tight so I'm looking at cheap/affordable lowers. Looking for a plain ol' mil-spec, seen a few for under $50. Not looking at polymer.
Wondering of there are brands to avoid or look for? Also any dealers that these lowers can be found at would be helpful.

Start in the Industry partners section, give them a call. Lowers in stock are running $70-200 per depending on mfg and if they're billet or not. IMO any of them work.
If you want to make the drive, Ark Tactical has some Anderson lowers pretty cheap.

Anderson were the ones I kept seeing for under $50, are they decent?
I might have to find a reason to drive down to finally see Ark

Anderson lowers are good to go.
Damage Factory has aero and Anderson... Sometimes they give special forum pricing :)
Primary Arms just had a sale on Anderson stopped lowers for $39. Sold out this morning. The normal price is still excellent.

Even at $39 by the time you pay shipping, transfer fees, etc. you might be able to pick one up at Ark Tactical and save a few dollars.

That is solid advise right there
Troy at Colorado Gun Writes told me some lowers don't take the laser very well for some reason (he told me why but I don't remember). Of the few he listed, I can only recall Aero and DPMS. Just something to think about if you're going to need or want to engrave it.

The only thing I've noticed about Andersons (and some selling sites will note) is that you need a 3/4" screw/bolt for the pistol grip. I've tightened a few from different kits in until tight and still have to take them back out and trim off a bit. Other than that, fit and finish is fine.

I've had good luck with PSA, Anderson, and Surplus Ammo & Arms.

I've done a few 4 packs from these guys and they're GTG. Fast shipping, flat rate is usually $10. I've shipped to Damage Factory, so they have their FFL on file. They just posted a sale for $36 a piece for the first 100. http://fatboytactical.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=21&products_id=411
