Hi all, I recently moved to Aurora when I got married and it makes it harder for my wife and I to get to some of our favorite shooting places in the mountains. Does anyone know any locations more east of Aurora? I know there is some range in Wiggins but I can't tell if there is any local grass lands or BLM land in this area. Thanks for the help.
Colorado Rifle Club and there is another one nearby, but I can't remember the name.

Lead Valley is east, Ben Lohman is southeast.

To answer your question you are better off choosing amongst the paid clubs if you are looking for a place to shoot east of metro. Everyone will have a different preference as to where to go so I will leave you to your research.
Colorado Rifle Club: http://crci.org/
Ben Lomand Gun Club: https://www.blgc.org/
Lead Valley Range: http://www.leadvalleyrange.com/

Out by Wiggins there is no public land available. As far as I know the majority of it is all private. The Wiggins range is open as far as I can tell.

Hope it is reopened. It was locked up tight as recently as 2 weeks ago when I stopped by. Good to hear the town has taken it over from American Legion and going to try and make it work out.

I'd like to fine a place that's pretty isolated where i can move a bit more.
There is also the Pawnee grasslands up east of Greeley. But like mentioned before, you are better off joining a club.

Colorado Rifle Club is an excellent range
I was hesitant for a year due to all the cluster f*ck stories I heard about free open areas, NF, Grasslands. Couple of friends took me up to Pawnee and I have been going back every weekend since (been 5-6 weeks in a row). Might just be due to the weather that people are not filling the place up but it's been nice there without many others.
Might be up there again tomorrow with a new plinker to zero in that I just picked up this week. Just sucks that some people don't clean up after themselves. Or I may venture up past Blackhawk but it would be nice to find something east of Denver as I live near I70 and Chambers.
