Unfortunately it was with the car. Luckily it's always car hunting season.

Im told this "officially" takes me out of the Colorado populace, and makes me a 'Michigander'

They say it's not IF you will hit a deer, but WHEN.

Everybody is ok, In fact, it was much louder than impactful. No airbag deployment. Good thing the deer are dog sized up here.

Made it damm near 42 years without an accident, 3 weeks here and it's game on apparently...

Sorry about the hassle for you. Glad nobody was hurt.

I hit 2 deer in my life. Both times some dude stopped and took it away. Very cool. I was in no position to take them myself

Good to hear you and family are ok. Lucky that didn't roll over the hood in to your windshield. What it dress out at?

That would be weird & incomfortable. Probably means he has a stalker.

My ex-bosses daughter lives in MI with her husband. They say there are tons of deer in the state & (at least used to) get several hunting permits/year. They send the hides in to some place that makes deerskin work gloves & get a dozen or so pair each year. That'd be fine retribution to the deer for hosing up your vehicle.

When I drive to KY each year I do a lot of night driving & see a ton of deer carcasses on the side of the road throughout my trip. I'm always worried I'll contribute to the carcass population. So far I've been blessed.

I hit one of those German Shepard sized deer years ago in a 240Z in Georgia. Amazing how much damage they can cause when you hit one at 100 mph. Glad you and yours are OK!

I almost didn't even look at this thread. Figured it was just a hunting story and pictures.

Glad the two-legged critters involved are OK.

If you're going to make it a hobby you might invest in a large truck with a heavy duty front bumper and brush guard.

I lived in Michigan for 4 years of my adult life and totaled 2 vehicles with whitetail in the Grand Rapdis area in just those 4 years . Dang things bolt right in front of you! Glad you guys are okay.

One of my accidents was in a Ford Focus ZX3 and it flipped right over the top at about 35mph. The other was in a Suburban on 131 going about 75. I really just clipped its head, but it destroyed the whole passenger side of the vehicle because the deer ran into me at full speed.

Just under $8000 in damage. Not totaled, but a handful of screws away from it apparently.

As as a friend told me... "You're supposed to shoot em, it's much cheaper that way"

There is a city in New York with an estimated whitetail population of 100 deer per square mile.

Whew! That's an expensive little deer!

The spouse and I drove through Itasca State Park in Minnesota. The speed bumps on the road kept us going under 5 mph, which was apparently slow enough for all the white-tailed deer to mosey on out and lick and snot all over the windows. I had to roll the window down and shoo them away.
