Holy hell. Google led to me that "other" site this morning. Thought my head might explode from the rampant stupidity and general lack of knowledge or common sense there.

Glad that most of you here on this site aren't a bunch of ass goblins like those clowns.

Happy Sunday. [Beer]

PLEASE................... For every person here who bashes that site. An easy 50-60% are regulars there. I like the "Well i'm a member because i post a lot of stuff that reaches more people than here" excuse. YET............................all of them have footprints in numerous other forums there. I've been a member there since 98. Lost my post count when it changed over from a BB? style. Not that it matters. Just find it hilarious how many deny or bash that site, yet have a fairly impressive post count.

The key to enjoying it or other gun forums,,,,,,,STAY OUT OF THE GD SECTION. There it's a free for all. With (IMO) folks who don't have the spine to do or act on anything w/out moral support. It (sometimes) reads like a Dear Abbey. OK most of the time.

Need the hive minds opinion. Caught my girlfriend / spouse / partner, having sex with another (woman / man) what should i do?

MY neighbors dog barks, not sure what to do

I Think my co-workers is in to bondage. She sent me a package with "sexy pictures of her in various positions AND a pair of handcuffs. What should i do ?

The other forums like here, are a wealth of information. As is RFC, or GT.

Not bashing the "other" site; I don't have an account with them so don't have the "post count" issues. Before I joined this forum, I pondered the merits of joining that site.

This site has a more welcoming demeanor, truly. :)

Don't get me wrong, I have usually found helpful information there just by browsing.

But, man... the thread I stumbled onto today was stupid. Bunch of people with small dicks trying to overcompensate I guess. Hell, I doubt two thirds of the people spewing their garbage advice had ever even owned an AR type rifle. Probably never even fired one. Well, maybe in Call of Duty or whatever.

I don't go there- but did just now just for fun. See a thread entitled- "Is it ethical to bring your own snacks into a movie theater?". Tells me most of them just have to be playing Halo or something in their parents' basement.

I tend to browse the HT forum mostly, unless I'm researching a specific issue. See quite a few familiar handles.

First off get away from their GD forum. Try Precision Rifle, Reloading, The NFA section. Even their For Sale forums.

I believe you'd be surprised how many members here, as well as replying to this thread, didn't own an AR, OR any firearm when they signed up. Hell some folks here STILL don't own more than 1 maybe 2 guns. ESPECIALLY an AR, let alone more than 1K of ammo.

Now do a poll of how many here have had a CCW for more than 1 year, 2 - 3 - 5 - etc. Probably 1/4 - 1/3 membership doesn't have one, or better yet. Attended anything other than a basic (need a ccw cert) course. I'm not asking for anyone's pedigree, all i suggest is one look at them self before hand..............

I would never rag on anyone for simply not owning a firearm or having little to no experience. I would, however, rag on someone who spouts off a load of BS like they know what they are talking about when it's blatantly obvious they don't.

As far as the last part of your post, you're just being mean. You know I just got my permit earlier this year.

I have been a lurker there since 04, joined after the advanced search feature got pulled from public access, sometime in13. Turned out you now need to be a team member for advanced search. My post count is 2.

Uggh I would wager 80% of the folks on the NFA section have ever even held something with a stamp. The amount of incorrect advice and "facts" spewed in there is over the top. Then they all get butt hurt when you try to explain they are wrong.

I would venture that it avoids the typical forum vs forum bashing that can occur when an idiot or two takes things too seriously.

See you get "good info" I tried M4 and it's a bunch of pretentious anal cavities (assholes for the laymen). If you don't run a NF on XX bbl and XX lower with XX trigger and flash hider you're an idiot.

Look there's forums for fuking around, forums for learning and forums for a combo of everything along with a "family" atmosphere.
Meaning we can agree to disagree, call out some flag burning doshay. Get a time out or banned. It's what one makes of it.

I just don't understand how some folks can be so helpless, they need the internet to give them an answer of stay or divorce the bitch, or dick (what ever gender one prefers)

Then again some folks here couldn't find a topic if it was [B]HIGHLIGHTED IN RED CAPS and be the only other topic in that forum beside yours. Don't even bring up a DUPE.

How long you say you've had the CCW , again ? Ask the guy who drives 50 miles, forgetting the part he was going to give one who shall remain nameless ;)

ETA: Just occurred to me that some of youse guys talk about Facebook like it is an alternate version of "the site that shall not be named" and it makes a lot of sense to me - there is a lot of bullsh!t to wade through before you find the good stuff. I think the best way to use facebook is to actually just keep in touch with your close friends and family and avoid the politics and drama and other time wasting stuff like the plague.

Yet you like others (myself incl) do post / participate. It's nothing at all to post , be a member of any web sites. I find it hypocritical the "condemnation" of a site some of the same people post / are a member of. IF it's that shitty a site, don't be a member or go there, that's easy. I too was a member back before the new forum software. I didn't feel the need to join again though until like 2k8 for some reason or another. I think it was to use the EE there or something. The forum does suck. I keep hoping that it will get better or that site staff will make efforts to get things under control but it just gets worse and worse. I wouldn't call 155 posts in 7 years 'participating' as you have.

Here's the way "I Look at it" 1 post or 10K post. If you're signed up to any web site and participate. No matter how little or many post you do you're a member.

The best example i can give is this site, AR-15.co We have people whose post count is under 1-200 total, for say 5 years. To the laymen, they're members. YET the only thing they log on for is to sell shit. Not participate in any forum, just sell .

So you're either a member of a site or you're not. 1 or 1K post. IF, IMO, one despises and HATES going there don't stay a member. Don't Bitch about them, don't do anything. BUT Don't say one thing and do another. That's Hypocrisy Hopefully that one can agree on.
