Maryland bails on ballistic fingerprint program after 15 years, 5 million dollars and .....wait for it......NO crimes solved.

Must have been nice to have that kind of spare cash laying around in the state coffers for this bravo sierra boondoggle.

Remember Canada's long gun registry?

Maryland hadn't funded the program for a while before they shut it down this past May. The new cartridge casings were just being stacked in storage and they were running out of room. The pistol I bought a couple of weeks ago no longer contained the little envelope with the fired casing in it.

Maryland scraps failed cartridge casing mandate advocated by gun control groups (http://www.guns.com/2015/05/13/maryland-scraps-failed-cartridge-casing-mandate-advocated-by-gun-control-groups/)
