News is saying suicide bombers (plural), mentioned grenades, shootings at multiple locations and now they have 60 hostages in a concert hall. Talking 18 dead at the moment.

As we try to make sense of exactly what is going on, The Telegraph's David Chazan has this summary of what we know:
http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01817/quotes_1817837a.gif At least 18 people were killed and “many wounded” in a series of attacks in Paris by gunmen armed with kalashnikovs and grenades on Friday evening, police said.
Grenades were reportedly thrown at a stadium in the north of the French capital where a football match between France and Germany was being held, witnesses said.
The first shooting to be reported took place at a Cambodian restaurant in the 10th arrondissement of the city, an area with many crowded bars and restaurants, particularly busy on Friday evening.
A second shooting was reported minutes later near a nightclub in the area, Le Bataclan, where gunmen were said to be holding hostages. Later grenades were said to have been thrown at a stadium in the north of the city where a football match between France and Germany was being held.
Large numbers of police rushed to the scene of the first attack, a Cambodian restaurant in the 10th arrondissement of the French capital. They evacuated nearby bars and restaurants.
The motive of the shootings is unknown, but Parisians feared that terrorists had again attacked the French capital, where 17 people were killed in a series of attacks in January that began with the shootings of staff at the office of the Charlie Hebdo magazine. Sirens were heard throughout central Paris.

The bad thing is they are saying that no one has been captured yet. I take it the bombers blew themselves up but the guys with grenades and AKs may still be wandering around.

Wonder how many terrorists they have here to deal with?

It absolutely could happen anywhere...because the world continues to accept the reality of the current world situation. Just because you put your head in the sand doesn't mean people with ill intent won't stab you in the butt.

Most of Europe, as well as the U.S. have enough of our own problems without having to import them from the Middle East. Frankly, that's just asking for problems, BIG problems.

Yep fully agree. But now let's face it: Nobody in europe really wants them...nobody. But, they don't have a choice. There is no way to stop them. Imagine if south of mexico we had a bunch of muslim nations and that all at once they decide to move north.... who will stop them? how could we stop them? Mass genocide? That's a sensitive issue here, so imagine how sensitive it is in europe, where it is still a fresh memory....

This is absolutely terrible. We go to a lot of concerts, and we would have seen this band when they came through Denver had it not been for a scheduling conflict. I can't imagine going to enjoy a concert, only to have terrorists storm inside and just start shooting. News sources were saying that the police did go in and take control of the situation, because people inside the concert area were begging them to come and save them on social media. Apparently, terrorists were randomly continuing to shoot concert-goers.

The real fear I have is that how much longer until this happens here? Reports are saying it took 10-15min until police responded. They had plenty of time to kill an estimated 118 people at the concert hall, and another 40 in other attacks around the city. I hate to say it, but Russia seems to be the only country taking a hard stand against Islamic Terrorists. I'm saddened, sickened, and sending prayers to our first ally. Stay safe, you never know when this could come to our shores.

The Swedes have had it with the Muslim invasion currently underway in their country. Nine refugee centers have been burnt to the ground to get the message across – NO MORE MUSLIMS!
From Jews News (http://www.jewsnews.co.il/2015/10/30/a-civil-war-erupts-irate-and-fed-up-swedes-are-now-setting-muslim-refugee-centers-on-fire/)
Refugee centers in Sweden are being burned to the ground in what appears to be a statement against the significant number of refugees the country has allowed in. The multiple arsons have all been at facilities whichhouse or are slated to house immigrants.
One could say that someone in Sweden is mad as hell and bringing fire and brimstone to the facilities that are to be used for refugees. Seven arson fires have occurred, all of which seem to be connected with immigrant centers.

I just hope a bunch of people are getting their eyes opened to the realities of letting illegal immigration exist, and the implications of sweeping amnesty. Everyone that said this would happen was a racist until today. Not exactly the same as we face from mexico, but the fact is that when you invite massive amounts of people from a culture into your country they bring their culture with them. We get drug wars, they get ISIS.

There will still be an enclave of apologist, which the media will probably focus on. Pointing out it's due to intolerance by Western Culture and Ideas these "martyrs" felt the need to lash out.

You see this thought process on college campus, public schools and urban areas, where progressive ideology flourishes. Once again, AGENDA, AGENDA, AGENDA.

In all seriousness, I wonder if there will be a round two of the #I'llridewithyou campaign like there was after Hebdo. Reporter on NPR was saying how this felt different because the people killed weren't doing anything and were just killed for nothing. She went on to say how people are actually scared this time.

That really strikes me as that apologist attitude. She might as well have just said that the Hebdo people deserved it and people didn't think ISIS would kill "innocent" people.

I think it starts with getting the sympathizer out of the oval office. And Islam is more than just a religion, it dictates every facet of life, including government and economy. Blame them all for the actions of a few? Damn right! Those who consistently remain silent while these animals commit these acts in the name of their faith are just as guilty. Remember Burke: "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." The Muslim world is doing nothing to denounce, dissuade or stop this violence against Israel and the west. The silent majority is irrelevant at the very least, and culpable at most. The refugee situation just shows Obama is more than willing to let the enemy in. And Congress is a bunch of cowards who just can't stand up and say enough is enough. You mean the difference between the 2 rulers / heads of state from France

Speaking after the security meeting, Hollande said Friday's attacks were "committed by a terrorist army, the Islamic State group, a jihadist army, against France, against the values that we defend everywhere in the world, against what we are: A free country that means something to the whole planet.”

AND THE U.S.

President Barack Obama said the violence was an attack on "all of humanity" (http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/paris-terror-attacks/world-leaders-express-shock-paris-attacks-n463286) while Secretary of Defense Ash Carter called it an "assault on our common human dignity."

The absence of that word TERRORIST, seems to be a recurring theme among this Administration.
REMEMBER

A vote for HRC or ANY D will give us more "Immigrants" from the EU overflow.

Cut the Crap: The problem is islam, and it has to be exterminated. Period. (http://www.barnhardt.biz/2015/11/13/cut-the-crap-the-problem-is-islam-and-it-has-to-be-exterminated-period-2/)

So, a little review for those of you who may be new.

1. Islam is a political system, NOT a religion, and unless and until humanity wakes the hell up and STOPS referring to it as a religion, there is no hope. Islam is a hyper-aggressive, militaristic, expansionist, totalitarian political system designed to create a super-rich micro-oligarchical ruling class with a massive, destitute, genetically handicapped underclass below. The paper-thin faux-religious facade was a conscious, specific con from the very beginning – much like Mormonism and Scientology – a pure racket using borrowed and piggy-backed religious motifs to lend credibility to a massive, loosely-knit network of crime syndicate cells.

Here is a quote from Osama bin Laden that sums it all up:

“Our talks with the infidel West and our conflict with them ultimately revolve around one issue; one that demands our total support, with power and determination, with one voice, and it is: Does Islam, or does it not, force people by the power of the sword to submit to its authority corporeally if not spiritually? Yes. There are only three choices in Islam: [1] either willing submission [conversion]; or [2] payment of the jizya, through physical, though not spiritual, submission to the authority of Islam; or [3] the sword, for it is not right to let him [an infidel] live. The matter is summed up for every person alive: Either submit, or live under the suzerainty of Islam, or die.”
–Osama Bin Laden
(The Al Qaeda Reader, p. 42)

Definition of suzerainty: a situation in which a region or people is a compulsory tributary to a more powerful entity, which controls its foreign affairs while allowing the tributary vassal state internal autonomy.

Please note that the quote above makes perfectly clear that islam DOES NOT CARE IF YOU ACTUALLY BELIEVE ANY OF THEIR FAUX-RELIGIOUS BULLSHIT OR NOT – BECAUSE THAT’S NOT THE POINT. All that matters is EARTHLY submission and control of landmass. All of that five-times-per-day sticking one’s butt in the air while some bisexual shrieks about a non-existent pagan moon deity over a loudspeaker is not “prayer”. It is an outward sign of submission to the musloid political system. NOTHING more. It’s a gang signal. It’s a salute.

Islam isn’t about “allah” or “paradise” or “prayer” or “spirituality” or how human beings should relate to one another or how human beings should relate to a “god” or the eternal fate of the human soul. THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT ANY OF THAT. Islam is about acquiring physical, earthly territory and installing a totalitarian government over the earth that provides a cadre of “elites” masquerading as some sort of “clergy” with massive decadent wealth and as much twisted perverted sex as they want, including homosexual and heterosexual pedohilia, ephebophilia, concubinage, incest, bestiality and necrophilia. There is nothing new under the sun. They want power, they want money and they want sex. The “religious” aspects are a stone-cold con, which Bin Laden himself declared in no uncertain terms.

2. They can’t be reasoned with. They can’t be dialogued with. There is no such thing as “radical islam”. There is islam, which is even more bloodthirsty, conscienceless and perverse than what we are seeing today. We cannot possibly imagine what they would do if given true carte-blanche. Islam today is like an eleven year old boy – just BARELY on the cusp of puberty, just BEGINNING to test the waters. These beheadings, rapes, suicide attacks and terror operations are BUSH LEAGUE. Just as it is nonsensical and depraved to refer to Nazis as “radical Nazis” and “moderate Nazis” – as if ANY Nazism could ever be considered acceptable, so it is with islam. This is why Egyptian president Sisi’s recent speech calling for a “reformation” of islam is nonsense. All Sisi’s speech did was confirm that Sisi himself doesn’t actually believe any of it, and instead of doing the morally correct thing and renouncing islam, Sisi wants to have his pancakes and eat them too. He wants everyone – like him – to subscribe to and associate themselves with something that they don’t actually believe in or take seriously. (How very Pope Francis of him.) Well, you can pour maple syrup on a puddle of bloody, diarrhetic hogshit all you want, but it will never, ever be pancakes.

My poor wife is so ignorant to anything outside of her immediate bubble. She asked me this morning what happened in France. Took me a few minutes to explain it to her. Apparently, all of her Facebook friends are pretty clueless as well. They were posting up stuff comparing what happened in France to the September 11th attacks here in the United States. Apparently her friends think 130 ish casualties in France are just as tragic as the nearly 3,000 Americans that were killed.

While I am a "live and let live" sort of a guy and am pretty tolerant of others beliefs and ideals, I also believe that when your beliefs lead to violence against those that don't share your point of view then you are a cancer that needs to be cured.

While no where near the death toll we experienced. They well planned out attacks are similar to 9/11, right down to them going in with the knowledge they will become (in their minds) martyr's. I do agree with it being a cancer that needs to be cured, more aggressively .

Or, to reiterate:

The DU is upset that the actuality of fundamentalist Islam is undercutting their use of islamism as a lemma against western Christianity/Deism.

100% predictable. Their ally just became less useful.

One would think those forward leaning thought leaders would have the foresight to ask what happens next and realize their fail. Liberals are on record working with Muslims throughout the West and their leader Obama has made numerous statements in support of Islam.

If the terrorism doesn't stop, that is going to have long term consequences for their ideology.

Agree. The result from the terrorist perspective and the effect on the populace and that nation is indeed similar to the 9/11 attacks.

This is an interesting coincidence...

In the game Battlefield 3, released in October 2011, there is a mission in which the player is involved in a running gun battle with terrorists through the streets of France, eventually culminating in a nuclear bomb being detonated in the city.

Mission date? November 13, 2014.

Allen B. West responds: http://www.allenbwest.com/2015/11/if-we-dont-immediately-do-this-after-the-paris-attacks-we-deserve-the-consequences/

Snippet:
Time to fight back and beat the living dog crap out of these jackasses and make them fear us. I pray this will not just fade away, that we have candlelight vigils, James Taylor sings “You got a friend” and we blame ourselves — again.

May God bless the souls of those who were so brutally murdered by this planned operation. May God rise up the fighters, that France will find a new Charles “The Hammer” Martel and we as Western civilization will find the spirit of Churchill.

I think there's some legitimacy at stake here. It's one thing to have a terrorist attack happen in the US, another to be perceived as aiding it by welcoming refugees. Probably more political than practical because that risk has always been there (it didn't change on Friday night, just the optics changed).

I recall after 9/11 there was a motivation to find someone stateside to blame. Bush accepted some of that by admitting intelligence weaknesses. But no one in the Bush admin, or the gov in general, intentionally and knowingly aided the 9/11 terrorists.

That won't be the case if something happens now.
