ISIS releases 'Kill List'; Seven Texas cities included
The Pentagon has responded to a globally-released 'Kill List', asking law enforcement to give extra protection for military personnel whose personal information was released.
CBS News national security correspondent David Martin reports the Pentagon spent the weekend notifying the soldiers who appeared on the list, and urged city police departments and military police to increase patrol in the neighborhoods where the targeted live.
The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) published the list days ago, a report that contained names, photos, and home addresses of U.S. Armed Forces personnel, causing alarm in cities potentially at high-risk.
According to the publication, ISIS urges followers and sympathizers in the U.S. to kill the servicemen. Specific personnel on the list are largely from the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy - branches of the country's military that have conducted massive air strikes against ISIS.
The air strikes have left ISIS mostly defenseless, killing over 8,000 fighters with attacks carried out on more than 5,000 targets. But ISIS appears to be fighting back through forms of social media.
The Pentagon says the the targeted appeared to be compiled from public sources -- anything from news articles to Facebook posts that could have linked them to attacks on the terrorist group. Officials with the Pentagon say some members were incorrectly identified, but right or wrong, it's still a threat.
Seven Texas cities were included on the list: Abilene, New Braunfels, San Antonio, Wyle, Fort Hood, Bedford, and Killeen.
Cities expected to increase in security due to the threat are below:
-----------
Texas: Abilene, New Braunfels, San Antonio, Wyle, Fort Hood, Bedford, Killeen
Indiana: Michigan City, Bolivar
Michigan: Dearborn Heights, Lake Orion
Connecticut: Barkhamsted, Manchester
Nevada: Reno
Georgia: Griffin
Maryland: Upper Marlboro, Warrensburg, Lexington Park
Arizona: Phoenix
Louisiana: Shreveport, Bossier City
South Carolina: Daniel Island, Charleston
North Carolina: Fayetteville, New Bern
Virginia: Burke, Virginia Beach, Suffolk, Springfield, Norfolk, Chesapeake
Colorado: Colorado Springs
California: Hanford, Solvang, San Ardo, Monterrey, Newberry Park, Carlsbad
New Mexico: Farmington
North Dakota: Minot
South Dakota: Rapid City
Florida: Merritt Island, Palm Coast, Saint John, Middleburg, Saint Augustine
Washington: Colton, Cheney, Seattle, Spokane, Anacortes
Nebraska: Bellevue
Illinois: Orland Park
Rhode Island: Newport
Idaho: Bonners Ferry
Thanks Hick!

Bert, do I have gasoline and a flare? I like snakes, but they have to stay in their place and I will stay in mine. I don't like national leaders who import more snakes to live in my house.

I'll bet you can't tell the difference between a Sikh, Muslim (all of the different kinds), Hindu, or a brown Christian.
Ask my wife & I about her getting searched at a movie theater while no whites were. She's an Indian Hindu (a legal immigrant). Ask my wife & I about our family getting separated by the TSA. Ask my wife & I being asked if we're together in the grocery line. This happens day after day in every situation you can imagine.
All of these people screaming for the deportation of, or death to Muslims are blind. We need to focus on the real enemy. Assuming my family is safe, I'll be the first to be sure my friends that happen to be Muslim are safe.

Legit question John.
How does one tell the peaceable believer in Islam from the radical set?
I am sorry you and the Missus have had some less than pleasant experiences. Unfortunately human nature is human nature and some are very judgmental on appearance alone.
Nobody here is directing anything towards you or your friends.
But I cannot help what a gent from Attreya I know who was a Christian said about his friends from school who were Muslim.
"They may have been my friends and we were the best of friends, but they made it very clear they were Muslim first, everything else was secondary."

There are two kinds of Muslims; Radicals and those that will become Radicals when they believe Islam has the upper hand in the area.
Well, there is a third kind of Muslim and they're really the only ones that can be trusted, they're called "Ex-Muslims".

Thank you, Stu.
My wife has mentioned mistreatment in the past (ALL women have plenty of stories) and I've never really seen it in person until recently. It wasn't anything quite as dramatic as the stuff John is talking about, but it still pissed me off. Other times, she's lucky I wasn't around to see the way people treated her.
I'm all for racial profiling. Especially if it gives me the illusion of security.

Liberals don't honestly believe these people are a threat to public safety, but they DO know that they'll eventually get around to getting them registered as Democrats so that's why they put them in Republican areas like The Springs. They send them here to cancel out a few Republican voters. If they end up killing a few of us that's just bonus points.

Caught a piece on NPR where they asked a lady this same question. Pretty much her answer was that they don't believe the terrorists are muslims so they have nothing for which to apologize. They had clips of a couple other people saying similar things.
That's just a handful of people though. Seems to me that with a wide variety of people, there should be someone out there saying something. The fear must run pretty deep when no one is saying anything.

That's actually a good point, because when groups like Westboro start mouthing their stupidity off, Christians say "Well that's not Christianity" and everyone is in agreement that they are retards and we all move on. Why the double standard for Islam?

Because you can point out specifically in Islamic theology and tradition where ISIS is following the words and example of Mohammad to the letter. Whereas you can point out specifically in Christian theology where the Westboro folk are in direct opposition to the words and example of Christ.

Really? They can point to passages in the bible that justify their position.
They can use passages out of context, typically old testament... do they do burnt offerings, too? One example would be Leviticus- In context, that applied to God's chosen people- in response to what they were doing after the Exodus to the promised land. The Westboro lawyer's association posing as a church is certainly not among God's chosen people.
Much of the new testament made things like animal sacrifices and "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" not required any more, since Christ paid for those sins with his blood. It is in the bible to show what Christ died for.
The Koran gets more and more violent towards the end, and due to Abrogation, the later passages nullify the peaceful earlier passages where they conflict.
Couple that with Taqiyya (the command that Muslims lie to infidels if it furthers the cause of Islam), and those earlier passages are left in the Koran as examples to lie to infidels when asked what Islam is about.

Do I support importing military age male "migrants" that should be fighting for their homeland? No.
I answered your question, yet you respond with those tired analogies.
Did you respond to my objection / assertion? No. You, and so many like you, are unable to identify the real enemy and therefore call anyone unlike you "snakes" (by default, you called my wife a snake, for which you owe an apology).
How do you think our national security is benefited when some halfwit behind her in line at a Chipotle mutters "terrorist" under his breathe to his buddy, unaware that I was with her?

The Islamic State doesn't believe the so-called moderate Muslims are true Muslims either. Islam has been extreme and violent since forever. The moderate Muslims are a new invention. The Islamic State is a different animal entirely and their goal is to bring Islam back to the way they believe it is supposed to be and always was.
Many moderate Muslims were only moderate out of convenience. However, now many see this time as the return of the Caliphate they have been emboldened to join the cause.

What ISIS Really Wants
The Islamic State is no mere collection of psychopaths. It is a religious group with carefully considered beliefs, among them that it is a key agent of the coming apocalypse. Here’s what that means for its strategy—and for how to stop it
