View Full Version : Moving with NFA items and a Trustee
I know the moving with them has been coverd and I would need to notify the ATF. Now on my trust my brother is my Trustee, he wants to buy a supressor.
Will there be any problems if I move states and he stays in colorado. Would he just need a copy of the trust and his tax stamp? Or would with me moving states make him not able to be on my trust anymore.

I would recommend leaving him as a trustee on your trust, if you so chose to, but if he is wanting to buy something, he should set up his own trust. Might make things a little bit simpler regarding who's possessing what, when, why and how. It's not like they are all that hard to do.

Application for and delivery of NFA items Go to the Trust address.

I can change that though if I move states right?

States have diff requirements on a trust. Check with an atty. What works in CO might not work in TX, it could simply be a few words that need changed. I believe we have one on the forum who could answer your questions.

You have to change it, once you're no longer in CO. You notify the ATF of a change of address. Once that's logged in to your info with them. When you next apply, if you don't put the new addy as part of your trust . It will probably be kicked back / Denied for incorrect address
