I almost find these hard to resist. Though I can't help but think in a SD shooting a lawyer would use it to claim we were a looney.

Storm Troopers can't hit shit. Why would I want to associate myself with that?

There are quite a few Star Wars styled rifles floating around as well.

His unicorn has a point, Ridge has an opinion. Or would that be an opinionated point ?

You do realize they were under orders to miss so that the Millennium Falcon could be tracked to the rebel base Yavin 5, but not make it appear that they were just being let go. They shot perfectly fine assaulting the consular ship in the opening scene and they didn't miss those Jawas or Lars and Beru.

I guess I'm too serious about my firearms. I don't get it.

But...but...Obi Wan told us "Only imperial stormtroopers shoot with such accuracy!"

Yeah, but the only important character to ever get shot was Leia... and the was the first and only non-fatal blaster wound in original trilogy.

They even said to set for stun before firing, and Vader did emphasize to find the passengers and he wanted them alive. Unless you mean the one she took in the arm in ROTJ. But still, it was just in the arm.

Yeah this one. She's the only character to get shot and not immediately die. Instead, she acts like she just got punched in the arm. CONSPIRACY!!!

Off topic and FWIW, the NRA Museum in Fairfax, VA has a section dedicated to "Steampunk guns":

Ridge has a point.

Except for the fact storm troopers aren't real.

I thought they were pretty creative holsters.

OFF TOPIC: I got invited to a private screening of the new movie...and can't go. That sucks.

Good thing it wasn't a 45ACP. It would have killed her instantly.

I always liked how the weapons in the original movie were slightly modified versions of WWII firearms.

Yeah, like the 'broomhandle' Mauser blasters. I remember seeing the T-21 light repeating blaster which looks like a Lewis gun. Even the uniforms took flavors from WW2, like exaggerations of the WW2 German helmets.

I didn't realize Boba Fett used a Webley revolver or that the Jawa's had Enfields.

The T-21 is a Lewis, the E-11 stormtrooper gun is a Sterling and the DLT-19 I use for my sandtrooper is a MG-34. My wife's TIE pilot required German jackboots for approval in the 501st.

I already know I'll be at the Cinemark on Powers in CO Springs on Thursday, the Regal at I-25 and Hampden on Friday and the Alamo Drafthouse on Saturday. [LS]

Adam Savage of Mythbusters fame has a pretty great video about building a replica of Han Solo's blaster on YouTube.
