Gubba Mint Gum?
Naaaaah...it costs more than twice what it ought to and often leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Go mountain biking and remember your other expensive hobby.
Wait for dove season.
Wash the dog.
Go fishing.
Open carry (I personally don't, but since you asked for ideas)

I would, but in the area I live, I think the cops would be pretty jumpy, especially given my very close proximity to a state university.

Go ahead and carry around the house to get used to the gun at your waist. Also, you can CCW in the car without a permit.
Shop for a decent holster(s).

+1, I've been doing this for a few months now everywhere I go. It has really helped me become comfortable with carrying, and just incase SHTF.....
