It is not the proper role of the University to attempt to shield individuals from ideas and opinions they find unwelcome, disagreeable, or even deeply offensive.

You do NOT have the right to never be offended.

The First amendment gives the right to free speech- that includes speech you may find offensive. if you're offended by something said by anyone, I find that offensive...

So if your being offended is offensive to me, then who's right to not being offended trumps the other one? It's a stand off, thus proving that never being offended is NOT a right.

What they need to do is just admit, in their minds, that rights are relative to the individual and his/her special snowflake status.

Free speech is not dead if you are a minority, feminist, etc, etc...

Let's stop pretending we all want equality and just be honest; a growing minority wants special status/accommodation.

The first amendment protects speech we don't like.

I don't like hearing leftist drivel, my response is to turn it off or walk away or whatever. My response isn't to remove their right to speak openly about their leftist nonsense.

A leftist is the opposite of me in this regard. They flat out do not want to hear my speech, they want to prevent me from speaking altogether and they want the government to stop me on their behalf.

PC wants to prevent me from airing my views in any format while forcing me to listen to their illogical and irrational nonsense.
