Are there any gunsmiths in the Colorado Springs are who can drill and taper pin a low profile gas block? I'm just trying to get an idea for a near future project and don't want to send it out to ADCO if I don't have to.

If you're handy, you can do it yourself. I've used taper pins on the last three I did. They all turned out excellent. I just had to buy the reamer. The 2/0 reamer isn't a real sturdy tool so just go slow and use plenty of oil.

USPS delivers up here, or take a drive.
We can do it.

Get a Geissele Super Gas Block. It has a built in pilot for a 3/16" bit, and uses a huge roll pin. A $40 drill press will do it.

Guess my first question is why?
I can see wanting the security of a taper pin but if you dimple the barrel for the gas block set screws then you should be good. I have done a lot of gas blocks this way and have never had an issue with the block moving off line. Only thing needed is a drill press and a carbide bit. Btw if you do have it done take the drive or ship it out have BPTactical do it so it's done right.
