Denver Health Paramedics saved his life, ....coming directly from the surgeon that worked on that officer at Denver Health.
I hope the best for that officer, and his family during this time....and I am thankful for the continuous education that the Denver Paramedic Division, and all paramedics go through to save peoples lives in situations like this, and others.
Glad he's gonna make it. To bad that the bad guy isn't in the custody of the coroner.
Heard about this event this morning and was surprised there wasn't a thread. Last I heard he was critical condition. Really hoping he makes a full recovery. Also really hoping they find some evidence that will lead to who did this.
I thought they had a least one in custody. I'll have to check the latest.

What's there to say , outside of positive prayers for the cop & his family.
Some piece of shit opened up on a cop. Probably (armchair qb'ing here) over a FTA for possession of meth, parking tickets, revoked DL. Something , that put this skel out there thinking he/she could walk, after gunning down a cop.
Get a description sketched out, offer a reward. Instead of cash.... Tell the public there's an ounce or so of weed on the table for info.
Phones be ringing off the hook. Confirm the info given leads to the actual shooter. Return the same greeting he /she gave the officer, back.
Officer Lopez might lose his leg, possibly his life. What happens to the shooter?? Three Hots and a Cot. WTF??
Add insult to injury, Lopez could get a wheelchair while CONVICTS get a rec center [pileoshit]

I read one in custody, too. Dad is a DPD commander. Kudos to the medics and hospital staff.
Heard this on the news and couldn't believe it. Hope the officer can recover.

We've got to stop with this bullshit. Violent felony = hard time. I get going easy on some of the minor stuff but catch-and-release just isn't working. The "system" knows exactly who the problems are.
And someone will still blame the gun...

His Dad is a friend of mine ... and a damn fine person too.
