Big E3 mentioned he had bought an 80% lower from this outfit called Daytona Tactical. Anyone have any experience with them?

I had been looking at this 10.5" SS barreled upper for a pistol. pretty cheap, and since it's really a toy, was willing to roll the dice on weather this was worth a crap

there was a thread about Daytona Tactical on the "other" site and they were getting flamed for backdoor advertising and not paying fees, but nobody has checked in as to go/no go on quality.

I milled a 308 and standard lower from them. A couple guys at work have purchased and assembled their rifle kits, as well.
Have not heard any major complaints from any of them.

I just helped a buddy build a rifle using one of their FDE kits and a 80% lower. It all appeared to be pretty decent for the price. I didn't like the free float handguard much though. Very cheap. He hasn't fired it yet, so I don't have a range report for it.

I will say they suck to speak to on the phone. I was on hold for nearly 20 minutes and got a curt "Daytona Tactical" when they finally answered. Shop sounds in the background and the guy wasn't helpful at all. My buddy screwed up the 80% anodized FDE lower and I was trying to get him a new one. They don't sell them separately.

Their 80% lowers are decent, I have no complaints. Like oneguy above said, their handguards seem cheaply made. Customer service sucks balls in my experience, too.
