Anyone watching it? I just finished the 2nd episode, and I'm afraid I'm hooked. It's free on Amazon if you have prime.

I watched the first episode and really enjoyed it. I will be starting on the rest soon.

Have you heard how many episodes there are? I think I've heard there are 9 or 10 out there, but don't know if there will be more or if thats the end.

I believe there are 10 episodes and they're planning a 2nd season. I liked it, the ending was a bit meh but it was a good binge watch.

I watched the first couple.. it's interesting for sure. I thought it was all released at once, apparently it's not? I've only been able to get a few

They should all be available on Amazon Prime Video. I watched them all over the course of a week.

I saw the first episode two days ago, loved it, watched 2 - 4 I think it was yesterday. It's good indeed.

Watching it and up to episode 8. I am having an issue with it because in the beginning it matches up somewhat with the book (there are some normal plot change type things that I could understand and weren't that big), but they are off the deep-end and going way outside the bounds of the book (which is one of my more favorite PKD novellas). My wife, who has never read the book is having a great time with it.

Same as asmo: loved the book, but not sure where they are going with the show.

My post from another thread.

My opinion is that everything I've read from Philip K Dick is annoying. It's not that he's a bad writer, just...annoying. I read A Scanner Darkly and didn't like it, but mostly because he captured the druggie mind set so perfectly that it was painful to read. I think he had very interesting plot concepts that lend themselves well to fantasy/sci-fi directors. Which I guess is supported by the pretty long list of films adapted from his books:
Total Recall
The Adjustment Bureau
Screamers
Radio Free Albemuth
Next
A Scanner Darkly
Paycheck
Minority Report
Imposter
Confessions d'un Barjo
Blade Runner

I watched the first episode and sorta liked - might commit to a binge watch when I'm done with something else I'm watching right now.

I thought it was good and worth the watch. It's an interesting premise for a TV show that is well written and acted.

Put it on my watch list. Maybe I'll have time during the holiday break to give it a watch.

It and other shows, off the major 3 networks, would never play on "commercial" t.v The main reason is the General Public's short attention span. IF it's not wrapped up in 30 - 60 minutes they lose interest.
Reason #2.... how can they watch a show that doesn't require them Texting who to vote off or save for next weeks episode.

I pretty much watch only shows that have been DVR'd. I don't have the time or patience to sit through commercials.

I did sign up for prime on a special deal about a month ago so I need to get my money's worth out of that.

Resuming episode one right now. Main female seemed to take the death of her sister pretty smooth.

Decided to re-watch Ridley Scott's "Final Cut" of "Blade Runner" after this discussion. I am still amazed at how wonderfully shot the movie is, the incredible use of light and shadow, and the superb acting (not to mention Philip K. Dick's typically deep complex thought-provoking plots). The amount of detail that went into their set design is just amazing. It's a shame it came out in the same year as "Gandhi", and "Tootsie" and "E.T." because it's far better than a number of the Oscar winners I've seen.

It sure is nice to have read the book first. This story is convoluted enough to make it confusing even having read the book.

The whole sister/step-sister thing is completely inconsequential. Minor made up character to further the plot.

I can't get past the premise of this book. The idea is supposed to be that the US won, but no one knows. How do you win a war but still let the other side conquer you?

There are very few shows on the main networks that I find interesting but I do like a lot of what's on cable these days, especially the SyFy channel. Amazon also has some good shows out right now.

Hint::: America as it stands today. Media propaganda

Never read the book. Loved watching the first season. Yes media does have something to do with the propaganda but I think there is something hinting at someone's will is so strong to alter reality for everyone else which is what I got out of the last episode unless I am understanding the plot line wrong.

We don't have Amazon Prime so I haven't had a chance to see it but I'd like to. Read the book probably 35 years ago though, and liked it.

What's funny is that I had no idea this was being made. So I was on Yahoo one day and saw one of those "teaser" ads that said something like "Imagine what the US would be like if we lost WWII" and my first thought was "Huh, that's interesting. Kind of sounds like the plot to "The Man in the High Castle." :D

I haven't read the book, but my understanding is the show is nothing like it (only loosely based on the book)

Do you still have to be a prime member to watch it? I watched the first episode a year ago but at the time.I would have had to buy a prime membership to watch any more episodes.

Unless you can buy the season, yes you need to be a member.

My husband likes this show. I asked & he replied that season 3 made watching the first two seasons worth it.

I think you have to watch it to understand what my statement really means, so it's not really a "spoiler", IMO.

I started Season 3 last night. When I first started watching the series, I was under the impression that this was a drama. Now it seems more like Sci-Fi/Fantasy. It's a little interesting, but definitely not for everybody.

I knew there was going to be a science-fictioni element to the show before I started watching because it's based on a book written by Phillip K. Dick. I was surprised to make it through season one with no sci-fi elements present.
