A former Guantanamo detainee has appeared in the latest video released this week by Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).Among the senior Al Qaeda leaders featured in the video is Ibrahim al-Qosi, who was transferred to his native Sudan in July 2012 (http://www.foxnews.com/world/2012/07/11/guantanamo-prisoner-back-in-sudan-after-10-years/) after being held for 10 years at the U.S. base in Cuba. According to the Foundation For Defense of Democracies' Long War Journal (http://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2015/12/ex-guantanamo-detainee-now-an-al-qaeda-leader-in-yemen.php) blog, al-Qosi joined AQAP last year and has since become one of its leaders.
The video, entitled "Guardians of Sharia" shows al-Qosi and other AQAP commanders discussing the terror group's policy of encouraging attacks against the West by individuals and small cells. The video also emphasizes the importance of following the teachings of experienced terror ideologues -- a likely reference to ISIS, whose rise over the past 18 months has overshadowed Al Qaeda's long-running terror campaign.

^ Slam dunk!

What does it mean when Obama continues to give terrorists what they want? Release of detainees, physical access to the US, nuke deal with Iran, rise of the caliphate with US support, gun control, DOJ threatening to prosecute for free speech, etc...

In other news, Angela Merkle is the Time Person of the Year. Know how she earned it? She gave her country away.

I suppose you could look at it another way in that the US couldn't kill him while he was in Guantanamo, but he's fair game now.

After we drop the flyers 45 minutes in advance, right? And assuming he isn't playing "hide the AK."

It's a poor situation regardless, that's for sure.

I see no reason we can't kill all of them in gitmo. The only thing they are potentially good for is leverage or trading for our own people.

To misquote gb. We can either hang them over here, or fight them over there.

The Americans guarding them might have a couple of reasons relating to our distinct sense of American honor and integrity and I wouldn't want to violate that. The solution would be to give them to a nation that WILL execute them post haste.

The Geneva Convention does not apply to Al Quaida or ISIL/ISIS or Hamas or Hezbollah or whatever, the members of those foreign groups have no expectation of U.S. constitutional rights or due process or anything remotely related to a fair trail by jury.

What the hell is "Time"? Didn't that used to be a significant publication back when the printing press, telegraph, Wells Fargo Wagon, and the Kaiser were around. Didn't even know Time was still kicking. Angela Merkle? Oh, yea...the East German Communist. Good to see Time carrying on that tradition of supporting big Germans. Think they had Hitler as Man of the year too. Got on that Time website and saw a really great video of "Hollywood" reaching out and ending gun violence. Big names, big cows: Amy Schumer, Jennifer Anniston, and the obnoxious, loud, foreign chick from Modern Family. Go Hollywood!

Not only was Hitler person of the year, Stalin was person of the year in '39 and '42. I think at that point I would stop putting any stock into what Time has to say about anything.
