View Full Version : 2nd Amendment under direct attack
https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/4269 introduced 12/16 and already has 123 co-sponsors. The Hearing Protection Act only has 38 so far.
There's a petition to stop it, although who would believe Obama would listen to that one. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/stop-assault-weapons-ban-2015-proposed-congressman-david-cicilline
Thanks for posting this up, we'll see how far it goes. Hey look, DeGette is a co-sponsor.
...and the mice once more attempt to vote to put a bell on the cat. Let's see how that goes for them.

To regulate assault weapons, to ensure that the right to keep and bear arms is not unlimited, and for other purposes.
seems to fly directly in the face of
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
From the Merriam-Webster Dictionary:
infringe
verb inĀ·fringe \in-ˈfrinj\
: to do something that does not obey or follow (a rule, law, etc.) ( chiefly US )
: to wrongly limit or restrict (something, such as another person's rights)

We've been under attack for decades, their final push, or should i say Solution, is under way. With the massive media (internet, tv, radio, print) deck stacked against us. There are a few options one can do to counter their attack.
Unfortunately IMO the white (Sorry) Color Blind House is a lost cause. Maintaining the House & Senate are A MUST. If we as Constitutional supporters falter in 11/2016. Regaining our footing might be difficult, if not impossible.
IF the 2nd falls , those who feel the Constitution is nothing but a piece of paper that needs to be removed. Eliminating the 22nd, locking a Socialist ruling monarchy in power for who knows how long. Our country will not recover from the resulting carnage. Probably in you younger ones lifetime. If ever.

I just reread 1984 this last weekend. I had not read it since Jr High. The beginning that discusses the conditions is getting dangerously close to the reality that we are experiencing. Amazing that Orwell wrote it in the late 40's when the liberal party took over in England, he could see where that road lead.

I plan on reading this again also. I remember the first time I read it wondering how it could get to that point...Now, I don't think I'll be so shocked.

I'm reading Atlas Shrugged right now - I'm about 1/3 of the way through it and like 1984, the conditions created in the story are alarmingly similar to what we have going on today. In the book, the government's economic overreach is crippling major industries in the name of "fairness" while the people are crying out about "greed" and everyone is blindly trying to destroy the successful instead of imitate them. This was written in 1957... it seems like it was written last week.

“(v) (1) It shall be unlawful for a person to import, sell, manufacture, transfer, or possess, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, a semiautomatic assault weapon.
“(2) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to the possession, sale, or transfer of any semiautomatic assault weapon otherwise lawfully possessed under Federal law on the date of enactment of the Assault Weapons Ban of 2015.
That basically is an appeasement statement to make current generation of gun owners happy (The "I've already got what I need" mentality) while making it impossible for future generations to own or possess decent firearms.
Section 5 also makes it impossible to transfer Grandfathered weapons, including as gifts to family. Liberty will effectively die in exactly 1 generation.
So after reading the text the first thing that pops out at me is, who the hell is putting a rocket launcher on their semi auto rifle? Also, where can I get one?

I read that too, hmmmmm [Beer]
I like that these rifles are still permitted:
“M–1 Carbines with standard fixed stock
“M–1 Garand with fixed 8 round capacity and standard stock
We won WWII with them.
"I like that these rifles are still permitted:"
For now.

$4000 Carbines and $10,000 Garands. Sounds like a good time to buy now for investment.
That is a whole lot of infringing going on.
I'm sure the progressive types will feel much safer when all of the listed firearms are made illegal for the non-professionals.[shithitsfan]
