I applaud him for his mastery of modern language. Although, he loses a few points for not telling the investigators to f**k off.

As a boot, I learned the F word was a verb, noun, and adjective.

Army should've provided the briefing attendees with a safe space. WTF were they thinking?

They are trained to go and kill the enemy.

Yet they shrivel up and whine when an officer lays it out in a frank manner.

Stop the world, I want off.

One of my first bosses was a 23 year DI in the Airborn. Salty language was the norm. In fact getting dressed down publicly was normal if you ever up badly enough. I would not have even thought to complain, because he was right 90% of the time. In addition my old man was the big boss, and would definitely backed Jesse. It was exceptional training for success later in life, and I came to live him as a surrogate Uncle. Thin skins have no place in the real world. If you are wrong expect to be called on it, that is what motivates you to make sure you are not wrong and perform at a high level.

Our Battalion Commander (an 0-6- Full Bird Colonel) gave a riveting speech before our deployment to Afghanistan- something along the lines of: "We're not going to paint schools or build mosques, we're going to destroy the enemy. Believe me, those f***ers know who we are, and they know the crossed swords tribe doesn't f*** around!" That is how you motivate. Or you could be like this guy:

A 50 minute briefing that had the F-bomb only used 5 times? The General had his company manners on, especially if he was annoyed that is staff got things wrong and made him look bad.

What a bunch of pantywaists! The next commander should make sure each seat at the table has a box of pink tissues for the staff members to quietly sniffle into if their widdle feelings are hurt.
