I've been applying to get into law enforcement for 3 years now. Got my offer yesterday from Denver Sheriff Department. I'm super stoked! I have heard great things about the department, as well as the training and being on the jail side of things. Eventually I want to be at DPD or another agency, but I'm excited to finally get a shot. Academy starts January 4th.

Congrats and good luck. Rough time to be a cop but hopefully the pendulum will swing back real soon. I'm hoping.

Congrats and be safe!
It's about time. Nice work.
Congrats! My stepkid has been with DSD since 03, they seem like good folks to work with.
Congratulations on your start. It is a long road and no one can tell you where it will take you.
Set your ethical standards higher than the department requires.
Act as if you know you are on video and every person you admire and respect will be watching and reviewing everything you do.
Do not allow the experience or knowledge of co-workers persuade you to do something you know to be wrong.
Treat all you come in contact with as you would want your family members and loved ones treated.
Make a vow to yourself that you will end every shift as whole; physically, mentally, spiritually, as you began the shift.
Good luck to you.
Be safe.
What great news! And what an exciting way to start the new year- congratulations! :)

Good advice! All to forgotten in this day of tacticool badassery. I know a few guys that started with good intentions until they got out on their own and then became "the man" treating everyone like a lesser and a criminal all while breaking everylaw they can because they get away with it.
good luck and hopefully your career is long and fullfilling!
