Anyone ever looked at trying this? I see a few folks swapping out their Ruger stocks for other AR stock types and I got curious if the Precision Rifle stock would work with/on an AR15.

I don't see why not , I'd look into the weight factor though

I didn't think it's that heavy.

That being said, I think the stock while nice that it has the adjustments was regarded as one of the weaker points. Kinda soft/flimsy. If you actually like it more than a PRS for some kinda SPR AR build, might work. (And maybe better in that I do think it was lighter than the heavy PRS.)

I was on the look out for a take off, till i saw this unit. It's on order and looking forward installing on a 20" AR project. The reviews are good on it , function, fit and price point.

I'd still pick a RPR stock up if the price was right. Ruger did well putting the RPR to market. Great entry rifle for us precision wannabe's, with almost everything you'd want to put on a bolt action for an easy $3-500 less.

Good information, thanks I appreciate it. I'll keep an eye open for a take off, frankly I'd like to give one a try.

for a bench rifle, it's nice! it's a little heavy to be slinging around the woods for hunting though.

I never understood the need for a check riser on an in-line action like the AR. I already have to mount the scope high and can still hardly get my face smashed down on the stock to see through it.

That's the beauty of an Adjustable stock and cheek rest.. Down on the stock or up till good line of sight is achieved. It's the other adjustable parts that work for shooters.
