motorcycle dolly?

Any of you riders have a dolly for your bike? I have a small garage and am trying to squeeze more items in for about a two week period. Can't quite move the Harley into the exact position I need it to be in for me to do this. A dolly would seem to be the answer but I don't know anyone that's ever used one.

If anyone has experience I'd appreciate hearing about it. They seem to run between $100-$200 so I don't want to buy one only to find out they're not really that great. Thanks.

I don't, I do something different. But other riders on the Shovelhead forum I hang out at say they work well. Specifically the Harbor Freight one. Essentially a big skate you put the bike on then you can wheel it around wherever you want, like against the wall in the corner.

I can add that I have a large amount of stuff in my garage, and nearly everything is on caster wheels. I'm able to move more crap around than you can imagine, yet still pack it all over out of the way so the wife can easily park her SUV inside. I highly recommend putting stuff on wheels!

Harbor Freight is having a 3-day sale this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and specifically mentions a 1,000lb motorcycle dolly in their ad. I have a copy sitting in my garage right now.

I own the Harbor Freight one, and I freaking love it. Allows me to shove my bike out of the way when not riding, and get it out quickly when I am going to. Very easy to move the bike, but ratchet it down before you do.

Sorry i sold my bikes, but i kept the lift. Still the HF is a good deal.

Do yourself a favor. Buy good hold downs, secure the bike before moving.

FWIW - I have a Handy electric lift for my HD, and I made these skates for it. I can wheel that mother anywhere I want, with anything on it. Spin it in circles if I wish.

My uncle lines up his motorcycles in the corner of his garage with 3 Trackmoto's. Not quite as mobile as a full dolly but they seem a bit more stable.

The OP is trying to gain as much space as possible. The lifts will leave a larger footprint than the bike itself which doesn't make any sense. And to make it even better, put a block of wood under the kickstand to its upright and not leaning then strap it down. Just don't strap it down from the handlebars like most people do. You risk blowing your fork seals that way.
