I have a 1911 that I would like to put some quality night sites on it.
What at are some of your favorite brands, style and quick to get back in line?
This is a part time carry/nightstand pistol.

Trijicon, or truglo. For the money spent on a "part time carry, bed side"pistol. I'd invest in a quality flash light.
I have a Novak set currently on my 5" 1911 with a tritium dot only in the front-the rear is the wide notch. I really like either Trijicon HD with orange ring or Ameriglo i-dot also with the orange ring (that's what my M&P full size wears). I'd go with either if I was picking sights now.

My favorite sights to date are the Trijicon HD with the yellow front sight, although admittedly I've only had them on my carry Glock. My 1911 wears the factory Novak night sights, which are nice, but if it was my daily carry I'd put some HD's on it. I've also had good luck with the various "high visibility" Ameriglo offerings.
For the price, the Ameriglo sights have served me well. The I-dot model is my favorite as I prefer just having to line two dots up vertically versus lining three dots up horizontally in low light situations.

Run the Heinie Straight Eights on my Nighthawk. Love them. As my main carry I should have done the ledge rear though.

Great suggestions. Thank you everyone. I will research each one and update the thread. I went out to Divide with a buddy today to throw some lead down range. Noticed my friends FN sites were a lot better than mine.
I should say, this is my 90% carry weapon, the other 10% I'm at my kids school, bank or using another smaller weapon.

You don't carry at the bank?
I run Trijicon 3 dot. Yellow rear, green front.

He's being serious. You know that it is not illegal to carry at the bank right? You wouldn't be the first on here to have that misconception; seems to be somewhat common.
I carry at the bank. It's one of the few places I'm most likely to encounter an armed bad guy.

And the Pharmacy.

Pharmacy, I guess. Never go inside there either.
Good point on the bank, but I would rather not. Most of my banking is done online or in the drive up window.
Just to clarify, my bank, ENT Federal CU has signs and prefers no weapons.

(sigh) A "site" is a location. You're perhaps referring to night sights?
I like my Glock factory night sights (reputedly Trijicon) or sometimes Meprolight as aftermarket options.

Nope, I am looking for a awesome night club. Colorado Springs kinda sucks for that.
Thanks for for the recommendation on the night sights though....[HiFive]

To each their own I guess, at least you carry some of the time.

I don't usually go into businesses that have "no weapons" signs. This is about the only vice I have since we like banking at ENT. Small price to pay for going inside maybe once every 4-6 years. In fact, those are the last times since I had to set up my kids bank accounts and they are 4 and 6.
For instance, I don't go: local movie theaters (that sucks, but after the Aurora shooting...out came the signs), Sky Socks stadium, any business that have signs against me having a concealed weapon legally. All legal stuff aside, they just do not get my business if I know about it.

Sorry, didn't realize you were out - the "site" you seek is Club Q, by the bowling alley off of North Academy. But the CS Indy would have given you that info...

Cool man. See you there. Let me know what you are wearing so I can get you a fruit drink. My wife should get a kick out of that.

LOL at least you have a sense of humor, you will fit in well here.
Choosing not to carry some where is completely different than believing that it is illegal to carry there. Thank you for the clarification. Glad to hear it was a decision not out of ignorance of your rights.

Yeah man, I don't let any "site" get my banana hammocks all wadded up. I like having fun and this place looks like a hoot and a bunch of good people. In fact, I enjoy when people give me a hard time when I am being an idiot (that is often)....

You and your "wife" will have to put me on the guest list, I guess, but I could drop by and share a drink once you settle in - we can even discuss night sights. [Sarcasm2]

I appreciate that. It is a choice.
If a business has it posted, I follow their wishes and not give them any of my money. They don't deserve it.

Want the VIP lounge? I'm kind of excited. I looked at the reviews and it said "all big guns" welcome. Wonder if you can CC in club Q?

Trijicon HD. I prefer the red front.
Nice wide U shaped notch makes finding the front sight easy.
Until I went with the Trijicon HDs, all my night sights were Heinie Straight 8s. A couple of my pistols still have them.

My carry guns all have Trijicon "Bright and Tough" GL01 tritium sights. Never tried fiber optics on pistols, but I have this weird notion that fiber optics are for BB and pellet guns.[Duno] My tritium sights probably each have a good 4-5 years left before they need replacing. Hopefully I'll have a chance to try out something else by then so I can make an educated decision.

Huh, I bank at ENT weekly... I've never seen those signs. I'm sure the security personnel they contract with could stop any threat one might encounter.
I've added Glock factory night sights (or similar) to all my ugly black pistols.

I prefer my TLR-1 over any night sights. Next to that, Trijicon HD's.

So I stopped by the ENT on Cheyenne Blvd. I talked with management and security both. They took the signs down last Thursday believe it or not. I guess a bunch of customers complained and we're going to pull the money out of the bank, two that were sizable amounts. It is up to the managers, but this one at the location I bank has taken down the signs and supports it.
Security was was all for it since they are unarmed and usually old enough to be my grandfather.
So, thank you everyone that brought this up. I can't speak for all the banks, but this one made me pretty happy today. Guess there is one more place I can carry now as of last week.
Win in win in my book.

Interesting enough, one of the ENT credit unions were robbed today. Glad they removed the signs on the doors.
