I am likely going to move houses in the next few months, and have a 550# 60x30x21 gun safe that I'm considering moving to the new house's basement. The new house will have about 5 steps up to get to the main level, and then down a full flight. Anyone know who moves safes? Anyone know the cost? Thanks!

Do like I did on our recent move from Trinidad to Illinois. Luckily I sold my safe to the buyer of our Colorado place and with the $'s bought the current safe that remained in the house from our sellers. Easy but very lucky transaction.
Opie on here sells, installs, and moves safes. If for some reason he was unable to help you, piano movers should be able to move a safe no problem.

Opie moved mine. Highly recommend.

Opie. He's moved mine twice, good to go!

Thanks all. I'll try Opie. I moved this one in, but it's a tricky fit coming back up and around a couple corners.
A good friend of mine, who used to sell safes and own a gunstore, kept his safemover. He does several a month for a moving company as a sub. If the referenced Opie does not work out, send me a PM and I will get you his contact info. He does all my safe moves. :)
I'll throw in on opie. He moved one for me, far more worried about the floor than I was

Might be cheaper and/or easier just to leave/negotiate it with the old place and buy a new one. This is probably only feasible if you own both houses.
