Does the Colorado magazine laws have anything on ammo belts? is there 15 round limit on the links? Iam not talking about the drum or any other device to store the ammo.
Good luck getting a correct answer to that. Is it an ammunition feeding device? Sort of. Can it be easily made to hold more than fifteen rounds? Sort of, but they are still individual pieces.
I've been wondering about this too. Isn't each pair of links a magazine that holds a singe round?
Never mind
At first read, I thought you were asking about cowboy gun belts. Thought we were being trolled.
Now I see - legit question.

Well, since you've owned them prior to 7/1/13, what difference does the laws make that apply post 7/1/13 ?

just curious about this. A belt is not really a magazine or is it?
We talked about this on here before, but I don't remember the outcome because I don't have any belts. If I remember correctly, the answer was "It's a gray area," or something similar.
Its not really a grey area:
18-12-301. Definitions.
..
(2) (a) "Large-capacity magazine" means:
..
(I) A fixed or detachable magazine, box, drum, feed strip, or similar device capable of accepting, or that is designed to be readily converted to accept, more than fifteen rounds of ammunition;
18-12-303. Identification markings for large-capacity magazines - rules.
..
(1) A large-capacity magazine that is manufactured in Colorado on or after July 1, 2013, must include a permanent stamp or marking indicating that the large-capacity magazine was manufactured or assembled after July 1, 2013. The stamp or marking must be legibly and conspicuously engraved or cast upon the outer surface of the large-capacity magazine.
...
(3) A person who manufactures a large-capacity magazine in Colorado in violation of subsection (1) of this section commits a class 2 misdemeanor and shall be punished in accordance with section 18-1.3-501.
It gets even weirder. I have several belts of 100 rounds each.. When I shoot them I turn them into (a.k.a. "manufacture") feed strips of a smaller size (99 rounds, 98 rounds, 97 rounds, 96 rounds, 95 rounds, etc.).. So every time I pull the trigger I apparently commit a class 2 misdemeanor...
To make sure we are all clear on the legal definition of "manufacture". From 'Blacks':
MANUFACTURE, v. From Latin words manus and factura, literally, put together by hand. Now it means the process of making products by hand or machinery. United States v. Anderson, D.C. Cal., 45 F.Supp. 943, 946.
Note: The primary meaning of this word is “making with the hand,” but this definition is too narrow for its present use. Its meaning has expanded as workmanship and art have advanced, so that now nearly all artificial products of human industry, nearly all such materials as have acquired changed conditions or new and specific combinations, whether from the direct action of the human hand, from chemical processes devised and directed by human skill, or by the employment of machinery, are now commonly designated as “manufactured.” Carlin v. Western Assur. Co., 57 Md. 526, 40 Am. Rep. 440; Evening Journal Ass’n v. State Board of Assessors, 47 N. J. Law, 36, 54 Am. Rep. 114; Attorney General (http://thelawdictionary.org/attorney-general/) v. Lorman, 59 Mich. 157, 26 N. W. 311. 60 Am. Rep. 287; Kidd v. Pearson, 128 U. S. 1, 9 Sup. Ct. 6, 32 L. Ed. 346.
MANUFACTURE, n. The process or operation of making wares or any material produced by hand, by machinery or by other agency; anything made from raw materials by the hand, by machinery, or by art. Jones Bros. Co. v. Underkoffier, D.C.Pa., 16 F.Supp. 729, 730. The production of articles for use from raw or prepared materials by giving such materials new forms, qualities, properties or combinations, whether by hand labor or machine. Cain's Coffee Co. v. City of Muskogee, 171 Old. 635, 44 P.2d 50, 52.
