What would be cool to do with an old iPhone?

I have an iPhone 4 or 4s that's sitting around as a spare. Any ideas of what it can used for for just a fun project?

I was thinking it would be cool to set it up in my bird house and have it take a pic every hour or so and upload it somewhere so I could check on things when I'm away. The bird house is within range of our WiFi. I have no clue how to do this or if it's even possible though.

Any other ideas?

I could be wrong, but I'm under the impression that iPhones aren't really the platform for custom programming.

On a side note, I love having extra phones around the house. It's nice to have a phone that does a bunch of stuff, but I often find that I prefer to have one gizmo to do one thing (usually pay music) and still have my main phone free for usual tasks.

I use mine as an mp3 player basically. I also use it as a portable free baby monitor with video when I go to friends houses. I set it up on WiFi with my iTunes account and my lady FaceTime's it with her iphone on wifi. Who am I kidding, she's not a lady...

The birdhouse idea could be cool, but how would it have power?

I use my old iphone as a webcam/security camera in my home... there are a lot of apps to choose from, but i've been using "presence" for a while now with no issues.

If you want the bird picture thing. You can jailbreak and control it from a pc. The iphone screen shows on a pc..... then use a program like mouse clicker to take pics.... set timing accordingly.

Buy a phone case that attaches to a spotting scope and use it for digiscoping/range use. Phone Skope is the one I use and nice to have a separate phone for this purpose instead of pulling my primary out of its Otterbox so it will fit.
