Back in Jersey I used to belong to a club that held monthly steel matches. I really enjoyed that and would like to start again. Any good places to do that around Boulder/Longmont? I live in Erie (Boulder County side).

What exit [LOL] There's a few steel matches happening around the front range. Best to check each range for their match schedules. I belong to these 2, which have steel shoots

The Brunswick area, eh.
Not sure if Boulder Rifle Club has steel, but worth checking out. Northern Colorado Rod and Gun Club has regular steel matches.

That looks like a winner. It's a little over an hour away, but they have matches through the winter.
FYI - I put my name on the membership waiting list, and there are 406 people ahead of me. LOL
Still better than BRCs 12 year wait.

Wow. That's insane.
I was thinking of getting on the wait list 26 years ago....LOL

WCFW has a wait list. You contact the membership guy, get on the list. USUALLY they have slots open every year during renewal, some folks forget to renew, or don't bother.
HOWEVER.................IF you do get contacted. The range holds orientation prior to receiving your card. IF you're unable to make that meeting. You're SOL and the next in line gets called. So.... prepare to spend a saturday there out of your busy schedule. I suggest you make the time. If not, they don't call you again.
I put my name on the WCFW list last year, maybe mid year, and I just got my card last weekend.
Still better than BRCs 12 year wait.
Is it really up to 12 years now? Every time I start getting within range, the number of years increases.
I think so. I check periodically what number I am at, and I went down by roughly half in 6 years. It seems that the waiting list number decreases by a steady 3.5 per month. At this rate I have 45 more months to go. So it will be 13 years on the waiting list for me. And with my luck I will end up moving 6 months after I join.

But, you can join as a Lite membership and get the matches at club rates. Breakeven there is about 3 matches a year. You can't use the range outside the matches though.

Yep, 10+ years for my wait. I have a steel target I purchased from AA Targets. Shoot me a PM as I try to go as much as possible.

[hahhah-no] Hey, I'm not from "the East Coast" -- I'm from Jersey. Got it, bub?
And I'm interested.
When Jersey isn't the East Coast, I'm throwing my maps and charts away. Still...in the early '70's, there was a pizza hole at South Ferry Manhattan, that had pizza that you'd fold in half, drain the oil off...and then...heaven. Oh, my. The memories. We'd come off a bender in Manhattan, and just before collapsing on the Coast Guard ferry to Governor's Island and safety, we'd partake of that delectable treat, and it was all worth while.

I and others here recommend the Sweet Italian or Hot Italian Link sausage. Also ask if they have any of the Cured sausage. Then there's the meatball Italiano. Chorizo blah, blah, blah
There was shit for food when we moved here 30+ yrs ago. Was at a funeral for the Mayor Of North Denver, some time back. At the Potenza Lodge (heyyy) of all places.
They start placing those big serving pans out. Tell my friends If this is a real wop remembrance. They're will be Ziti, or cavatelli in one tray. Lasagna , Meatballs, Sausage the other 3 AND.....number 4 will be PEPPERS & ONIONS. BAM!
Should have played lotto that day. Like clockwork it's NYC heaven. Asked who handles the tasty items. Why Clyde's did. . Before the internet it was look em up in the yellow pages.
At one point when traveling down to Clyde's i had 2 large coolers. Usually picking up a 50+ pound order. for co-workers and such. Know what i mean

I left NYC in 1988 but I have to say I did find some good pizza. It's a bit of a drive from where I live now in Eldorado Springs. You'll need to take 70 East for about 1800 miles. Then follow rt76 to rt81 to rt78 then tak rt678 better known at the Van Wyck Expressway. Take Exit 3 go 1/4 mile and Amore Pizza will be on your right in the shopping center. 3027 Stratton St, Flushing, NY 11354

I also just picked up my BRC membership card so let me know if you want to shoot some steel.
They have steel at BRC .... or shoot steel somewhere else?

I have a steel target and stand I purchased from AA Targets through this forum. It's a 12" square. On the 25 yard range there they have 5 steel plates on a manual reset, it's fun.

Wife is flying back to visit her folks this month. She is returning with 2 dozen bagels. Real bagels. I've told her to jettison a pair of shoes if she needs room in her luggage. We'll see how that goes....

Go in sign up get membership. The less one says, the less one knows.
HOWEVER you don't bring non-members in during range members only time frame.
Let them get their own membership. There's 4 guest passes, USE.... DON'T ABUSE.
