They can probably charge whatever they want for it..... and still have a waiting list.

ETA: Pretty cool!
ETA2: This almost makes up for the "HK load" mags on the catalog. Almost.

Other than ComicCon, your mom's basement or whatever, where would you wear it? As much crap as the super mall ninjas get when they show up at the range all tacticooled out, how much disdain would be launched at someone showing up at the range in that get-up?

I guess if you have a collection or a display case....

When SHTF, anyone I encounter in that will assume it's just cosplay garbage and laugh their butts off while I'm getting my first rounds down range ... other than that, I'd never wear it.

No, but you don't need to worry, storm troopers can't hit anything anyway!

OK, I'm going to apologize in advance (Sorry, fans...)

I'm not honestly into Star Wars enough to understand the Boba Fett love. Why is he so popular? Best I can tell, he delivered a guy to Jabba that Vader caught and then later fell into a pit and got eaten. But somehow, he is like the king of badasses in Star Wars lore. What am I missing?

Not a super duper fan either, but I believe he (or maybe his dad?) is the legendary supersoldier that all the storm troopers are clones of.

Jango Fett is the father of Boba Fett. All of the storm troopers are clones of Jango. The clones had their growthaccelerated with the exception of Boba who Jango took as his son as more of a "natural" clone.

According to my brother, who's read a bunch of the books, Jango after getting eaten by the monster actually manages to escape.

Most of the books aren't canon anymore due to the Disney move.

...But yeah, I didn't really get the whole Boba thing either, but the armor does look nifty! :P

(Oh, and I guess the stormtrooper thing is that they were clones of Jango originally, but the clones had a limited time use, after which the Empire went with others. Hence how we got Finn.)

Like it or not, Cosplay is becoming more mainstream. The fact that H&K, and companies like Airsoft have jumped on the bandwagon and now are making money hand over fist just goes to show that it is an accepted hobby.

The days of "you're a hopeless nerd living in your parent's basement an playing with toy guns and armor" are no longer prevalent. Have you been to a Con lately? The details in those costumes are incredibly impressive.

Indeed. I frequent Dungeons and Drafts, a self-described geek and nerd bar that opened last July up here in Fort Collins. Tuesdays they have cosplay lessons. This woman has been teaching classes how to make different pieces out of thermalplastic. This week they were doing bracers. The stuff can be really quite amazing.

Is real life really that dull for so many that they must live out fantasy land in video games and "cos-play?"
I don't get it.
I must be getting old.

I don't think it has anything to do with life being dull.

You should probably see a doctor and try to get that stick removed though.

Nothing wrong with letting your imagination and inner child run free... Perhaps you should try it

I often let my imagination and inner child run free - when I am playing with my child.

What, no furry convention invite? Where's the love?

August 12-14 is Rocky Mountain Fur Con if you want to go. It's at the Crown Plaza out by DIA this year, same hotel StarFest will be at.

Thanks for the heads-up. However, I already have plans of remaining a mentally healthy, socially adjusted, mature, heterosexual man that weekend.
Perhaps if I'm raped by a bear between now and then, my plans could change.

Well, if it doesn't happen by accident before that weekend, chances are pretty good that you can arrange a sure thing if you attend.

Yeah, if you don't comprehend the difference between a Furry convention and ComicCon, you'll want to stay home and save yourself from the disappointment.

No disappointment. I'll probably be out fishing or shooting with my daughter that weekend.

Blah, that's what the weekdays are for. Weekends are for fun. Galaxy Fest (in CO Springs) and Ghengis Con in Feb, AnomalyCon and StarFest in March, Cheyenne Comic Con (1st annual!) in May, DCC in June, Ren Faire in July, Pirate Fest in Sep... and on it goes!

Plus, I still get in my range time and already have planned a turkey hunt in April, Elk in October, goose sometime in the year, and I'm trying to get a friend to take me along for a coyote hunt if he's able to make it out.
