Bushmaster or Anderson?

The boy is probably going to sell an AR and apply the funds to a Form 4 toy. Fine by me. But before he does I am considering swapping lowers. One is a Bushmaster the other an Anderson.
Both are currently attached to parts guns so I wouldn't be breaking up a complete rifle. Both are fine, good shape, fit well, equal condition to each other etc. Does the Bushy may have a little more resale value?
Would you keep one over the other, or it doesn't matter one damn bit?

Makes no difference, for me. There's purist who ABSOLUTELY have to have X lower others don't care. IMO IF HRC gets the nod an 80% (untouched) lower will be worth $2-500. Commercial ones, name your price.
Keep which ever you think will bring more money. Curious how much does you kid think he'll get for his AR? With factory ones going for $499-599, a mixmaster....???

I'd keep the Bushmaster. But only because I'm a bit sentimental. My first AR was a factory Bushmaster.

Current reputation aside, I'd rather have a lower from a company that's been around for about 40 years than one that's barely getting started in the business.

Depends A lot of lowers sport that keyhole forging. Really doesn't matter whose name it on it. One of the Ind partners did or still does 80%'s to their spec and roll mark .
I have 1/2 doz lowers (hypothetically) , different name / mfg same keyhole forge.

As Kazoo said... this probably isn't the best time to sell. Buy low and sell high- not the other way around! These days, you can get a decent AR from PSA for less than $500, but in a year (or less) that same AR might be worth $800-1000 because... politics.

Also as Kazoo said (I've been saying that a lot lately, huh?) Most lowers come from the same forge and are functionally identical.

I don't think we'll ever see $2000 junk ARs again, simply because the market is so flooded now (how many years in a row have gun stores had difficulty keeping basic products like stripped lowers on their shelves?), but prices will always fluctuate.

Also, as long as you don't put a silencer or collapsible stock on it, you don't need an FFL. You can just use the "gun show loophole" that President Obama keeps talking about.

Forge mark (keyhole identifies Cerro Forge) as a differentiator is incorrect - like saying you'd only buy cars made with steel from US Steel in Pittsburgh, no matter which car company actually made the car.
