RENTON, Wash. — Police say the man who shot and critically wounded a woman inside a movie theater (http://kng5.tv/1ZG92hJ) in Washington on Thursday night is in custody.
The suspect told detectives the shooting was an accident that took place when he dropped his gun inside the theater. The man reportedly said the gun discharged when it fell to the ground. He also said he'd been drinking before the shooting took place.
Interesting how this accidental shooting makes every local news across the US, but how many were shot on purpose in Chicago last night? New Orleans? DC? Why no news stories on those dead people that were killed on purpose by people with bad intentions?

It's called "narrative".
If the story was.....it would never hit the news either. It's not the cars fault it's the drunk, irresponsible, operator.

No proper holster, fumbling with the gun, drinking before hand...but yeah, let's make it a gun story.
Dropped it huh? Not buying that. I'd like to know more but facts won't make it past "guns are scary."
9news (gannet) is notorious for its bias btw. They were instrumental in removing the JeffCo and Douglas school board members returning control to the teachers unions.

Saw a post earlier this morning in the comments section of a local (to the shooting) news article from someone claiming to be a few feet away saying the shooting was intentional.
If guy dropped gun and drunk idiot squeezes trigger picking up. That puts someones back right at your feet.

I say we should ban guns in movie theaters.
Ban movie theaters and this will resolve both the hand gun and rifle issue.

If they're going to report on this, I want to know what gun goes off when dropped so I don't buy one. Media could at least provide a public service along with there biased reporting.

You just knew if you mentioned it I would check. Eight ( 8 ) shot on purpose in Chicago yesterday.
I never heard any media coverage about the mass shooting in Chicago last Saturday either, nineteen, yes nineteen in one day.

I actually looked in the local Chicago news sites... That stuff is tough to find. They bury it in with the protest about guns and things like that. Its like they are more concerned about guns than they are the people getting killed and the people killing them.

BENNINGTON >> No one was injured, and no charges are being filed after a person's firearm accidentally discharged in a restaurant on Tuesday.
Bennington Police said that at 5:30 p.m. they responded to Chili's Bar and Grill, located at the Hannaford Square, after an employee reported that a person had discharged a firearm inside the restaurant. The person had left by the time the matter was reported.
Police spoke with people at Chili's and were able to identify and locate the person who had the firearm. They were interviewed by police at their home. Police determined the gun fired accidentally and never left its holster. Police said a piece of the person's clothing may have got caught in the trigger guard, engaging the trigger.

Ya, everything prior to my new job posted on a desktop as opposed to where I now have 12 hours trying not to shoot myself or stay awake from boredom power browsing the internet. And I'm texting crippled. (I watch it highlight and say the word I'm texting, then it reverts back. The way the window views, the text is pretty much right away out of view so I'm stuck hitting back to close the text box if I want to edit which often just dumps my whole response. What's aggravating is sometimes the auto correct is much better than others. I just miss phones with physical keyboards.

I have the same problem. Always makes the text super huge where you can only see one word at a time. Always have to shrink it back down.
